Well, I have posted that she was scheduled to be deployed to Iraq soon and I found out tonight that she is NOT going to be deployed to Iraq!!! She said they cancelled her orders and she is to continue to be stationed at Fort Riley, KS. Woohoo!!

What a HUGE relief this is for me!! I have worried and worried about her going over there and now, at least for the moment, things are calm.

Wow. I want to thank ALL of the wonderful people on this board that have sent emails to me in support of the situation and I just HAD to share this news with you all!

Thank you again and thank the lord for huge blessings.

Missy

I'm so happy for you, and please tell your daughter thank you for serving our country and she will do a great job where ever she is stationed, just makes it a lot less worrisome for the Mom doesn't it, if she is here in the states. I will pray for her safety even here in the states. You must be proud of her. Jackie ( another Rapid City person)

Glad for you Mom. As a former Marine, I am sure my Mom hated the overseas assignments, but I LOVED them. When you are young, no fear, all adventure.

I know you are thrilled! I am so thankful for everyone over there, but I'd rather everyone be over here. And safe. I want everyone safe and happy. Thank you to all our service men and women for keeping us safe. We do appreciate it. And for you parents, I don't know how you do it, but thank you for lending your kids to the cause. I know they make you proud.

So glad that she didn't have to go!!!
My daughter spent a year in Iraq. We are really hoping that she will not deploy again. Her Unit will be deploying in 2011 and we are hoping and praying that she will not have to go again!!!

I am so happy for you. That had to take a load off your mind.

I am happy for you and her. While my daughter was over there I was terrified every time the phone rang. I know it was unreasonable, but fear is hard to control. I aged 20 years while she was there(or so it felt like). but was so relieved when she came home.
