when she was 3 months old I took her to a cat show and she did so well, she got 2nd place out of 20 kittens, but 4 days later she had a raging temp we nearly lost her she became so ill and we rushed her of to the vet, I had to force feed her for a week before she started to eat by herself and inject fluids under her skin to keep her hydrated, after a course of antibiotics she came good, or so we thought, another trip to the vet and 1 to an eye specialist only to be told she is totaly blind and he can't tell us why except that maybe she got it from the cat show. she was to be my future breeding queen but not now as we don't know what sent her blind so we had her desexed and she wanders around inside and out, she climbs rocks chases birds (doesn't catch them) when we came back from holiday one of our buckets we used for fishing was on the floor and here she is investigating it

She is so pretty. Sorry she has had so many problems. Looks like she is having a good time doing what cats do.

What a pretty little wegie she is. I am so sorry she was so ill and became blind. I am glad you didn't lose her. Such a shame though, her conformance looks perfect for NFC. Do they not vet the cats at catshows in Australia to try and keep ill cats out?

WNCA cat shows are not vetted they expect the owners to be responsible and not bring sick cats to shows, most other cat shows are vetted, at the same cat show we caught ringworm and I know who's cat had it as i was stewarding but it was a bit late by the time I discovered it. the owner swore black and blue that the kitten was over it. we are not supposed to show any cats if we have had an infection in the cattery for at least 3 weeks after it has cleared up. I was absolutely devastated when she got sick, I have 4 kittens entered in the royal show in Perth in a couple of weeks wish me luck.

There are some owners who go to shows and just don't give a damn. Any chance at getting a stupid ribbon and they don't care what the cost is. I have never shown and never will do to that and how down right mean some of those people are. I do love going and spectating though. Here are pics of my wegies Woolybear and Marcel. Woolybear is retired show cat that I got him after his show career was over. Marcel has gone to the rainbow bridge. He was such a special boy but then again they all are so special.

She is so pretty. She seems to be adjusting well to her handicaps.

she has adapted very well to life without sight, she knows just how high to jump to get on my lap and how far the floor is from my lap, when she first became blind she was so frightened of being put down on the floor as she didn't know where it was, she still gets worried if I put her down when i am walking outside. but she goes everywhere we are on 8 acres and she wanders around on at least half of it. she will still walk into things if we move them just like a blind person does.
but no way would I think of putting her to sleep she is so full of life,
