Here is a pic of my house we took today. It is great that the flowers are starting to bloom and the trees finally have leaves. Behind the house is the Alabama River.

My log home on the Alabama river.

A very beautiful home. It appears to be in a country setting. I can only imagine the sun sets you get to watch from your veranda. Do you get much wildlife stopping in?

np3 04-20-2011 07:23 PM

Oh my word, drooling!

Maggiemay 04-20-2011 07:24 PM

Do you have a guest room looking for a permanent resident?

Your house is beautiful!

ontheriver 04-20-2011 07:30 PM

Thank you all so much. I just love my home. One of my sons took a year off from work to build it for me, and I am so proud of the job he did. It took a year as I paid for every bit of it as we went. The main house is two floors. The bottom floor and deck is an apartment I build for my parents, so now they can live mortgage free and enjoy life. It is a very rural setting, I have no neighbors for 3 miles, and yes all kinds of animals, deer, turkey, birds everywhere.

np3 04-20-2011 07:33 PM

He did an amazing job!

JulieR 04-20-2011 07:35 PM

Nice peaceful setting. I live 3 miles out of town and 1/2 mile down a dirt road. I love the wildlife and the fact that the closest neighbor is at the end of our driveway. She's an elderly lady in her mid 70's. You notice I didn't say she is an old lady. She does all the upkeep on her property and house. She goes out with a weedeater to clear off her pasture and her yard is perfect. Not a dandylion in it!! I stopped one day and told her she was making me tired watching her do all that hard work. She just laughed at me and said "no one is gonna do it for me" *LOL* That's probably what keeps her going. Thanks for sharing your beautiful home. crafty_linda_b
