I was going to go buy some reading books, but looks like I will be staying home. So I am going to quilt quilt quilt! Got part of my fabric that I was running out of, ordered the other on the internet, still need the thread. So I will start something new; maybe a quilt for kids. What will you do???

Quilter7x 01-17-2011 02:57 PM

Wish I could stay home, but I have to go to work. Boooooo!

Crabby Patty 01-17-2011 03:03 PM

I had a drs. appt tomorrow but called and rescheduled. Soooo I will probably quilt, quilt, quilt til I drop. I have several ufos hiding somewhere. I may either pull them out or start something new. Then again maybe I'll sleep.lol

pojo 01-17-2011 03:26 PM

If it is freezing rain here In Pennsylvania I'm going to stay in and cut out hexagons out of scraps.

kbs 01-17-2011 03:28 PM

I don't have to go out til Wed. so will just quilt, knit a mitten and read my new kindle.

maryb119 01-17-2011 03:32 PM

It's been snowing and blowing all day so I have stayed inside sewing all day. It's been great!

Hosta 01-17-2011 03:34 PM

we will be packing going to my son's in Maryland to surprise him for his birthday

MrsM 01-17-2011 03:36 PM

I will most likely have to walk to work. So hard to get out of our driveway in bad weather. :-(

Buckeye Rose 01-17-2011 03:49 PM

would love to stay home...but...DH pulled his picc line in his sleep and it must be replaced....so a quick run to hospital in Indy, get it put in, then run home....except there is no such thing as a quick run when we go to the hospital, something always screws up our day....like icy weather!

pinecone 01-17-2011 03:58 PM

-2*F right now and getting colder. Time for quilts!!

piney

Mellina 01-17-2011 04:05 PM

I have to go to work. Enjoyed today off.

tomilu 01-17-2011 04:07 PM

I am going to a meeting of the Queen Bees. One of the small groups in the Prairie Quilt Guild in Wichita. I have a pot of stew on simmering now to take for lunch.

Baysidegal 01-17-2011 04:11 PM

Not sure whether we are getting rain or snow tomorrow. I will be in all day sewing, then going out to Mom's to bring her dinner after she gets home from daycare...Hope it isn't too bad then.

Midwestmary 01-17-2011 04:30 PM

Snow, freezing rain, more snow, and now freezing rain :) - typical for our weather in this part of Iowa. Hubby was able to work from home today - so it was kind of a nice day to be snowed in :)

irishrose 01-17-2011 05:16 PM

It started here earlier today. I walked the dogs in a blizzard. I hope they appreciate it. Tomorrow - clean the house, play with my 'new' old machine and walk the dogs - and oh, shovel snow and shovel and shovel and shovel. Our weather forecast is for 1 to three inches today and 13 mph winds. The snow is coming down sideways with at least six inches on the ground already. The weatherman needs to look out the window.

quiltinghere 01-17-2011 05:34 PM

IF it's a yucky day - I may as well stay home and sew all morning instead of going to a guild meeting. I'll get more done that way.

mamaw 01-17-2011 06:01 PM

Going to be stormy here tomorrow also. Was going to ride with hubby to his doc appt. in the afternoon; but have changed my mind. If the roads are bad, I get scared and tend to upset him with my worrying and complaing; so we both agree home is where I belong lol.

cherylynne 01-17-2011 06:36 PM

Yea, freezing rain in the am. I can't go to the gym so I guess I'll alternate between getting rid of some clutter, sewing and reading an Elm Creek quilter book.

Daisygirl 01-17-2011 06:40 PM

It's my birthday tomorrow, so snow or not I hope to be doing a little quilting.

Daisygirl 01-17-2011 06:42 PM

Cherylynne, what part of NJ are you from? I'm in Lincroft

lalaland 01-17-2011 07:52 PM

I will be going..........to..............work. Phooey.

MaryStoaks 01-17-2011 08:24 PM

I'm painting my livingroom tomorrow, even the ceiling. It's been over 10 years since I painted it so I bought the good Behr paint. It was 90 degrees today so I'm hopeing tomorrow will be warm too.

kathdavis 01-17-2011 08:36 PM

I don't think we are getting the bad weather until Wednesday. It is 37 degrees right now. That is the warmest evening we have had for a while. If school is caled on Wednesday, I'll be stitching.

pab58 01-17-2011 10:03 PM

I'm driving (actually, I'll probably be skating!!!) to work. My students start their mid-term exams tomorrow. Thankfully, we have a half-day -- except we have to be there for the first half when everything is supposed to be really nasty. :|

Janet My 01-18-2011 05:14 AM

OK, I just got the call from my boss... "Stay Home". He doesn't have to tell me twice. LOL

We only have about 3" of snow, but it's sleet and freezing rain that it to be building up all day. I despise ice... Scares me to death, so I will be happy to sit in my sewing room, work on my UFO's and watch it come down all day out the window.

Stay safe to those that have to go out.

2manyprojects 01-18-2011 05:36 AM

we have snow/ice/freezing rain right now...cleaning, working on civil war quilt, and of course computer!

denilynne 01-18-2011 05:39 AM

unfortunately i have to go to work, bummer nice day to stay in jammies and sew

oldswimmer 01-18-2011 05:43 AM

We are supposed to get freezing drizzle, and then tomorrow (Wed) 3-6" of snow...and it will be heading east... Yesterday it was in the 60's in the south western part of NE, and in the mid 30's here in the middle.

I am going to try and finsih up piecing two quilts, then post to show you all!

grann of 6 01-18-2011 05:49 AM

Oh, it's really nasty right now. Looks like it is raining on top of the snow we got in the night. I took the dogs out at 7:30 and was really worried about Gus slipping and injuring his "bionic" knee. My thermometer say 30 degrees. Heidi was taking these really long strides and sinking into the mess. She looked like a stilt walker. Me, I was just trying to keep my feet under me. Now I need to go out to the mailbox and mail something. Guess I should get dressed and get something done besides sitting here

LindaR 01-18-2011 05:50 AM

was going to be a quilting day at guild, snow, and more snow and have to travel 18 miles so guess I will stay home, lots to do here too but disappointed....

ksea 01-18-2011 07:58 AM

Over 200 schools and businesses closed or delayed today so I think I will stay inside and see how many swap blocks I can get done.

Ditter43 01-18-2011 08:17 AM

The weather here isn't too bad. We had some rain yesterday and I had dr. appts, did some shopping and was home in time for supper.
Today it's overcast and raining on and off but not cold. I am working on a quilt for my GS and cleaning the house. :-D

Mickie612 01-18-2011 08:27 AM

I really feel for ya'll. Hopefully we have had our snow this year. I would go crazy if we had to live with it like you. It is just raining here and will hopefully get rid of the last of the snow. I need some spring;;;;;

Just Jane 01-18-2011 12:56 PM

DH and I were just at the doctor's today -- both of us are sick with bronchitis -- Doc says he should stay home at LEAST 2 more days! Don't feel real good, but there's nothing like handquilting to keep me content. He's a woodcarver, so we know what HE will be doing! Weather is supposed to turn nasty here in northern Indiana, and we stopped for supplies on our way home. We plan to settle in and enjoy our confinement!

Keep working on my scrappy blocks!

Bltg54 01-18-2011 05:54 PM

Tomorrow I will be out in the weather making my way to work and home again. Once I'm home it's supper and get ready for the next day. I will take a cross stitch to work on at lunch. I moved to the south last year after living on the West Coast for many years. This cold wet weather is taking some adjustment.

penski 01-18-2011 06:11 PM

we are getting the beginning of it now so i am going to spend my day in my sewing room !!!!

Hope you got to take your Mom her dinner today. This weather is so nasty to drive in. Please stay safe. My brother and SIL live in Rhode Island and he told me today it was awful but SIL went to work anyway. I'm sure it will be frozen by now. Hope she got home ok.

Rhonda 01-18-2011 06:57 PM

We did get freezing rain yesterday. The roads aren't bad now. We will be going out to eat tomarrow for our 36th wedding anniversary and my mom's birthday. It is supposed to be only cloudy tomarrow. Sure hope so!
