Need Help !!!! Computer Smart People

I sometimes watch TV thru my computer.
has always worked just fine.
now when I turn sound on
I am getting horribly annoying
high pitched piano music
drowning out the voices.
even went to you tube to hear
quilt thing and all I hear is dreaded piano.
some one please help me.
I am going to seriously need the sound
on my computer in a week or two and
I will need to hear the words.

I have no idea but my husband always says, "operator error."
I get so mad at him at times BUT, it's always good to check every step you go through just to make sure it isn't something you are doing.
Have you tried this on someone else's computer? Does it do the same thing? Just a thought; could narrow things down.
Good luck.

Have you tried restarting the computer?

Maybe you've turned on one of the music samples. Go to your music files and make sure there's nothing playing.

Do you have more than one internet window open? Or perhaps other programs running in the background? I agree with Prism - reboot.

Maybe do a ''restore'' to a day when this was not happening? Prob need updating your anti virus , which should happen auto.

I have noticed the music on youtube playing and drowning out the voices. I turn my computer after I am done with it. It didn't use to happen and I don't have any music that I put on computer.

so what was it?

Sounds like you haven't turned something else off properly - i.e. not logging out of another program correctly. Also, you could make sure that you are not tuned into a radio station as well.

This is what I was going to say.. Shut it down for 10 minutes so it can reset itself then turn it back on. Hopefully you have restored all settings, if not call the Help Desk.

Well, I'm glad you found your problem, but I have the same thing with the TV since the new season began. Also, what's with the folks saying their lines so quickly that the words are hard to distinguish? I'm not THAT old...and my hearing has been checked!

thanks for this comment...I was beginning to think I was really going deaf.........the mumbly low pitched dialogue is driving me crazy...not to mention some of the "background" music, which besides being noisy is also drowning out the dialogue......tis must be a "new" way of presenting......nd some of the camera work is dizzying........

I was wondering if there's some new part to the musician's contract...because the over kill on the music really seems pervasive. Also, I have actually seen the volume level go from 17 to 24 on some of the commercials (when I use the remote to turn it down, it shows the current level, and I usually keep it around 17 or 18). Glad I'm not the only one. This thread has helped my husband know it's not just me, so thanks! YAY for QB!

someone near me has a short wave radio and their voices come over my computer. it doesn't matter that i click mute or not. lately it's been blessedly silent!! not much can be done if that is the problem. "radio waves" etc. sigh.
