Have just returned to a little knitting, and I wondered what you think about bamboo knitting needles. Are they worth getting and are Knit pro MUCH better than others ??
Thank you for any advice !

Hi,
I use bamboo knitting needles most of the time now. They are light and inexpensive here in Australia. I'm not sure about the brand you mentioned but I have bought and used the very cheapest without any problem. Its good to get back to knitting isn't it?

Hi,
Thanks for your quick reply ! Yes, I am enjoying doing a little white baby cardigan. My eldest DD had her 12 week scan last Monday and all seems good. Saw the heartbeat and at one point the little left hand seemed to say - "Hi - I'm here" !!
She had a miscarriage middle of 2009, and so this pregnancy is so special. They have a little girl, Alyssa, who will be 6 in August and the estimated date of delivery is 16th Sept. She will be a great help to her Mummy.
My Mum used to do all the knitting, but she passed away last August, so I have taken on the knitting now - in between MANY quilting UFO's and my Dear Jane quilt. There just aren't enough hours in the day - AND I am looking on here TOOOOOOOO much, LOL.
Thanks again,
DottyD

Oh, I LOVE Bamboo knitting needles. So smooth and flawless. Even the aluminum ones get rough. I use the circular ones because my right wrist doesn't bend much. If I use straight needles my elbows stick out and take up all neighboring space. And with circulars, you have less chance of the work slipping off.

My Grandma will only use the bamboo ones now too!

I like the feel of bamboo needles but prefer a sharper point for some patterns.

I love the bamboo needles. It helps me keep the proper tension when I'm knitting. Sometimes I get the stitches a little too tight with metal needles.

If you go with natural fibers - wool/merino/silk, etc. - bamboo needles are better (IMnotsoHO).
