No quilting today. . .

I'm at my campground and can't find the energy to do any sewing today. I'm enjoying the sounds of the birds chirping and the sunshine. I'll be back home later tonight and plan on working on preparing another project to bring with me as I will be back at camp on Wednesday and plan on staying for a week or two.

Sewing in the woods is sew relaxing!!!

Everyone is entitled to a vaca, even away from quilting. We own a waterfront camp and although we haven't stayed there in a couple of years, I love to hand quilt on the back porch or front deck. It's nice to quilt while gaining a different perspective. Enjoy whatever you do Chuck.

Sounds wonderful and what inspiration you will gain from being at the camp. My grandmother taught me to listen to the "talking trees"; birds singing and the leaves rustling in the wind...it is the sounds of the "talking trees" that lolls me into a state of such peacefulness that words can not describe. Enjoy every moment and be inspired.

How I, also, adore to sew out in the open! I envy you the vacation in the camp!

Nothing better for the spirit than 'getting away' for a while. I hope my little room with a loft will be finished soon so I can move in a sewing machine and quilting frame.

Wow, I love that! So pretty!

Enjoy yourself, camping is not my 'thing'. We have a cabin in the woods, I only go at Thanksgiving, no bugs, chiggers love me.

I think a lovely cabin like this is ideal! Just got back fr. vacation, and enjoyed it. However, I could see quilt possibilities in EVERYTHING - patterns on rugs, on highway signs, on pool tiles...I guess quilt bug never really goes away ( not that I want it to...)

Chuck
Wish I was camping instead of working. Enjoy it.

I love to sit out side in my add a room and sew. WE don't have a seasonal camping site this year and I really miss being out side and sewing. I tried sewing outside when we are down south for the winter but the sand gets into everything and there is no birds and trees to look at.

We have a camper that sits on a site we own all year round has a fence around it, but never took my quilting with, go figure, i guess i thought it was too much to carry with me for the time we would be there. dunno, but one day i will take it with me.

OOH wonderful for you at a campground. sometimes you just need to get back to nature. I use to live in Waterford/Pontiac and Milford Michigan. anywhere close to Madison Heights.? Are you by Detroit (ourskirts?)

Donna, I'm just north of Detroit off of I75.

And this weekend I brought just a hand project to keep me occupied.
