I have started knitting and am using boa eyelash and regular eyelash yarn for the tops of these hats. The other day I took my morning walk and a neighbor came out, loved the hat and ordered one. Later, I went to the bank, and the teller loved the hat and ordered one. They take about 3 hours to make and I'm having a blast. Maybe that's why my mother's 4 panel quilt turned into a 1 panel wall hanging???

Was wearing the blue one while walking

AlwaysQuilting 12-12-2010 03:18 AM

I love those!
Are the ribbings w/2 strands of yarn too?
I knit also and might have to borrow your idea :D . I've been needing a new winter hat.

Those are really cute. I took up knitting two years ago and had to give it up, because my eyes always got blurry. But it was so comforting to sit and knit, I miss it.

Back to quilting now.

zennia 12-12-2010 03:49 AM

Yes, 2 strands on the brims/ribbings and either 1 or 2 for the fuzzy area, depending on how warm or how floppy you want it.

LOL. Me, too. Necessity is the mother of invention, though. HAD to get "something" done in time and that was the only way. Better than washing it in hot water, huh? As it was, my DD and my DS will have to wait for theirs and I'm just finishing a wall hanging for DGD just in time to fly back East tomorrow through 12/30. Have a Merry Christmas and I'll be experiencing similar weather to yours this year!! 1st time in eons. Very excited.

Connie in CO 12-12-2010 08:09 AM

Cast on,the number of stitches you cast on?I would love to try making one of my own.

Connie Merritt 12-13-2010 05:46 AM

Would you share the pattern for these hats. They are really cute and I would love to make one. Thanks

MrsClaas 12-13-2010 05:48 AM

I would love the pattern, too many hats are so ugly - for public use. This is one I would wear. Can you share?

SharonAnne,
I love those hats. Please sell them. I want one. I just got a boa neck scarf at a craft fair and a hat would be lovely with it.

sandpat 12-13-2010 06:02 AM

Those are so cute! I might make one for myself-- no...I wouldn't have it done until next summer......I bet you can sell even more of them than you already have.

rannyof3 12-13-2010 07:05 AM

I'm not a very good knitter, but might be able to do that one. Would give me something to do while at daughters for Christmas. WOULD YOU PLLLLEEEEEASE SHARE THE PATTERN????

Lisa T 12-13-2010 07:15 AM

These are so pretty! Love them!

I actually just got a new winter hat at a craft show- I can sew, but can't begin to knit or crochet. I also always buy the washcloths when I see them.

maryb119 12-13-2010 07:30 AM

Cute!! My gkids would love those!

auntiehenno 12-13-2010 07:36 AM

Faye B 12-13-2010 09:26 AM

Very pretty! My sister has tried and tried to teach me the finer art of knitting (and crochet and tatting and, and, and)...it's just not something I "get". Guess I'll have to stick with counted cross stitch and quilting!!

theifner 12-13-2010 12:01 PM

lynnie 12-13-2010 12:05 PM
