Hi nwm50, no the leather was very soft and easy to sew, I did use a leather foot and leather needles, I forgot to say it has 6 pockets in the inside, I'm now sewing one in white leather ( a leftover skirt from either the eighties or the nineties). The silk was more of a pain than the leather.

Fabulous recycling. Leather is so expensive, it's nice to know that it can be repurposed so beautifully. Can't wait to see the white one !!!

Your stitching is so precise. I am jealous of your ability to handle the leather. Just haven't been able to push myself hard enough to get that good. Was it a tough go?????

Very nice bag and great recycling. Have this pattern, must get it out.
