Hi nwm50, no the leather was very soft and easy to sew, I did use a leather foot and leather needles, I forgot to say it has 6 pockets in the inside, I'm now sewing one in white leather ( a leftover skirt from either the eighties or the nineties). The silk was more of a pain than the leather.

Fabulous recycling. Leather is so expensive, it's nice to know that it can be repurposed so beautifully. Can't wait to see the white one !!!

Your stitching is so precise. I am jealous of your ability to handle the leather. Just haven't been able to push myself hard enough to get that good. Was it a tough go?????

I downloaded thhe pattern for a grab bag from allpeoplequilt.com, and instead of using fabric I recycled an old leather jkt and some silk for the lining that I had laying around, its quick and easy, I'm doubg it in white leather from a skirt I've had lying around since either the 80's or the 90's and a half yard of a bright fuchsia moda fabric, will post that one when finished, really quick and easy to make.[ATTACH=CONFIG]464180[/ATTACH]
