Yes waiting is just as hard maybe even harder than know you are not wanted in a job. One of the jobs I am waiting to hear from, when I did a follow up call, got the feeling that I was being bolown off, like he was not really interested and made excuses. And when he called me back the other day he said I was is top candidate had to wait due to some corporate issues with expanding. Talk about suprised. I am now waiting to hear from 2 companies, one is part time and one is full time.
Pam - thanks for sharing about the cinnamon and honey. I do a lot of local raw honey and haven't had the problems with my allegeriess as I have in te past.
LaurieJo - The hike looks fun and exciting, enjoy the changes of seasons. Also received your FQ this week.
Irish - Prayers for you feeling better.
Ladies enjoy your weekend, I need to get ready for my weekly date, he is taking me for a good steak, will eat smart. After that not sure what we will do.
Be smart, make wise choices, Keep up all the good hard work you have been doing to keep losing your weight. You didn't put it on all at once, so it wont come off overnight. (I wish it did though) LOL
Pam.........maybe she will give you a time at the retreat at no charge since you donated the furniture. That would be nice, you have saved her a bunch of money. Enjoy your retreat next week, and I have to agree with you about the size of the center block being part of the problem. I hate working with pieces that small.

Irish I am praying that your injection was not a bad one. I hope your pain gets better without it lasting too long. The school where I work is a a regular school I am in a special ed classroom. We aren't supposed to have kids with mental illness but we do be cause it would cost about 4 times as much for him to be elsewhere. That is not a typical day. A typical day is very demanding and hectic but usually not that bad. In my opinion part of the problem is how the teacher handles some of the discipline. In general she is a very good teacher. We have a wide range of ability levels in the room.Anywhere from a kid who according to his IEP makes no purposeful movements (he isn't quite that low) to a pretty typical low first grader. There are 9 kids and none of them can do anything by themselves. She definitely has her pet students. Having enough help is a calming help in the room. Hopefully thing will go smoothly on Monday. The other aide is going to be out since her daughter hurt her knee and is having an MRI on Monday.
I am going to try the honey treatment. I have some local raw honey. I was taking cinnamon capsules for a while but kept burping them and it grossed me out so I quit. My eating has been awful the last couple of days. I am going to behave tomorrow. My DD and SIL and grandson are here. They have been a bad influence. We had pizza at 11:00 last night.
Irish I made a pizza crust out of cauliflower. I thought it was good. My DH liked it until I told him what it was. He is like that about thing that is why I rarely tell him what is in his food. I got the recipe at www.detoxinista.com. There are a bunch of interesting recipes there.
This fresh homegrown cauliflower doesn't need any embellishing, but I'll save the recipe for later. I like the recipes on the site. Are you on a food combining diet? I have the books, but haven't used it as much as I should. As far the rib pain goes, I've had it before though not as severe and it didn't last too long. I put a narrow back brace on it so I could walk the dogs. It seemed to help, but it was still not fun. I look like I suddenly grew a cup size - must the brace pushing fat up.
I refuse to worry about the tainted injection, but seeing the word steroids in print has reminded me that every time I've had oral steroids, I have gained weight and it was around for a long time. The other injected one I had didn't do it so I thought I would be okay, but this was into the SI joints guided by a fluorescope and it was a larger amount, times two. First the pain killer, then the dye, then the steroids on each side. Luckily, my friend insisted on driving me. Otherwise the 50 miles home would have been interesting. So that explains the excess weight since the end of July. Good. Now I know I will get rid of it eventually. All this compliments of my insurance company. They won't okay a referral to the orthopedic surgeon for this surgery unless it comes through a pain clinic and this procedure is done. The injection alone was $700. No wonder insurance is so high.
I'm seriously considering looking for new homes for Lily and Moira, but they 7 and 5 year old former strays. They deserve better than I may be able to give them soon. I was going to look for a foster home for 2 months, but if I they could have a new home, it might be better. Problems? Lily is shy and Moira has allergies. Will someone else give them the care they need?
I am ahead of my schedule (self imposed) on the bazaar quilt, so tonight I can put the strips together and put on the mismatched brown 1st border.
I had a grilled cheese sandwich and cauliflower for dinner. I think I could do that every day for a while. Nope, I have a 9 pound head of cabbage to deal with, so I will making a lot of cabbage soup. Good thing I like it.
Eat clean, drink lots of water and exercise. If we do that, how can we not lose weight. Uh, I missed one for me - eat clean, but eat in moderation!!! You can overeat the good stuff, too.
I am losing weight and getting healthier.
I just ran across the Detoxinista website and some of the recipes sounded interesting. I am trying to cut way back on my carbs and my DH has really really high cholesterol. I try to sneak in veggies and low fat where ever I can. My family usually has no idea what they are eating. When they see me cooking they inform me they aren't eating it and I tell them they have been for years. There are many sneaky ways to cut fat etc. Also my SIL and nephew are gluten free and there are a lot of interesting ways for GF on there. I cook GF for all family gatherings. I used the cauliflower crust as the base for an appetizer.
Irish, that is so sad to be thinking about giving away your dogs. I'm sure there are good homes with good people to take care of them if you feel that is what you have to do. Is this because you will be having surgery?
You made me hungry for grilled cheese. :) I was going to pick up subway subs to eat during the packer game but I think I will make grilled cheese instead.
Irish, I know you will do what is best for you and your furbabies. I pray if you do decide to find a home for them that the right person is there. No doubts in your mind.
Oh some yummy looking recipes on that site! Of course the ones I gravitate to the most are the dessserts lol. Cauliflower and grilled cheese sounds yummy too, or even just cauliflower with cheese sauce yummo. Didn't go on another hike today, too cold. I will probably go for a walk after dinner.
The right home??? Six years ago I had emergency surgery on my right foot - the bunion joint exploded - only I could have that happen, and I felt I needed to rehome the Texas Heeler (AU Cattledog/AU Shepherd) as she was the dog from he11 and I wasn't quite through civilizing her. The rescue wouldn't answer my calls or emails so I put an add in the paper. I screened people better than an adoption agency (43 calls). I also was yelled at. A woman thought because I had posted an ad, I had no right to withhold the dog from her. The rescue called - they could take her back on Sunday and my surgery wasn't until Monday, so okay. Ha, I called the surgeon and asked him to put a very protective cast on my foot - no flimsy boot, and Sasha and I got along just fine. I have been watching the dogs and I think I could handle one, but will be Lily be brokenhearted if I take Moira away?? City dogs have to be walked and I don't want to wait until they are too old to rehome if I can't do it. Decisions, decisions.
I went to my oldest daughter's house today for her b'day. Her son in laws cooked and her youngest daughter cleaned up. K did make her own dessert. I took L & M for the first time. At first they hung back because I wasn't out with them, but then they figured out they could run all over. I have two tired furgirls tonight. 40 acres to run on is dog heaven. Moira rolled in something - I think duck doodoo - so she's had a spot bath. Strip steak, barbequed pork, and chicken tenders on the grill. Some fancy grilled potatoes by the youngest GSIL and salad made by a GGS. Not fancy, but very good. THe oldest GSIL is a good grill cook.
My rib is better. 2 good hours this morning, then moderate pain with severe moments for a few hours , then back to just light, so I don't think this time it will last long. My friend did say he'd take me to Traverse this week if I can't drive that far. I think he just likes to drive my car.
Laurie, I agree the cauliflower with cheese sauce sounds good. I like 2% milkfat CoJack or Cheddar. I even use sharp for cooking - more cheese flavor with less cheese. No walk today. It's okay to take one day a week off, though I rarely get to because my walking partners don't need a day off, but they're covered today. It must be because fall and root vegetables are all over, but I just want cooked veggies - beans, cabbage soup, cauli/cheese, etc. A few weeks vegetarian wouldn't hurt.
meanmom, I'll see what the food combining book says about high cholesterol It makes a strong case for only eating meat with veggies, bread with veggies but not bread with meat. Fruit must be alone. Doesn't fit the American way of eating, but both the Diamonds and the new book are pretty emphatic about it. That is, of course, very simplified and may be incorrect as I haven't read the book in a long time. Basis: different foods take different enzymes and different digestion times and you're screwing up you entire system if you don't combine foods correctly.
