My kids spent the summer in Africa. I haven't seen or held them since June!!! God willing, they'll be back in a week, and start school 9/6. I can't wait to hug the stuffing out of them...

I start back at the end of the month, too. :(

Nice isn't it??! My last two started school last week. My youngest is 13 and the last of 6. I know that empty nest is going to hit me HARD..and while I have a few years left before that happens I am already starting to plan what to do with myself when I won't have to be taxi anymore. I bounce back between being excited and sad...where did all that time go? And who am I really?? Will I freak out when I don't have my full time MoM duties to fall back on anymore? Am I ready for this new phase of life?? Lots to think about....

ROFLOL, I did! It's called college. He went all last year on VA scholarship at 62 years young, is getting his AS degree in Criminal Justice by way of Governors Award Degree for his life experiences (he's a retired cop). He will then go on to get his Bachelors in spring. Meantime, I have a 'honey-do' list, he bike rides, works for the neighbor when he can cutting wood, drives the VA van for the vet's needing rides to doctor appointments, does maintenance for our church, is Pres. of the mens group at church, and even tho we don't have a pot to pee in, we are happy and content.
