Enlighten me I see often DH DM stuff like this.. I am sure its short for something that has only so many letters but everyone loves to type Faster.. so can you tell me what those things mean? I got LOL LMAO off but not being a chat room regular even on general topics I wonder what the heck are they talking about? (I know I am older than dirt but surely there is an easy answer to all this).

couple of websites for the chat short-hand:

http://www.netlingo.com/acronyms.php
http://www.internetslang.com/

I had one that's so parents have a clue what their kids are saying, i.e. Parents In Room. It might take me a while to find that one, but this should help.

(I don't know most of them either....)

Thank you very much. I couldnt keep up with my 18 yr old she types 125 wpm so it would be on and gone before I could see it. I think I would rather not keep up regardless.. bad enough I see what everyone writes on her facebook. Yipes. thanks for clarifying the DH DM .. I was thinking domestic husband? but what about married partners or live in partners or boyfriends so then there must be a zillion other little short cuts. I will book mark that site posted so I can keep up with the rest of the bears!

Elisabrat, I had to ask what some of the "letters" meant also. I just check out the site that redkimba gave. Boy there sure are a lot of them. Guess I'll stay in the dark before I try to remember all those.
