Well, our 19 year old wall oven/microwave finally gave us it's last meal. Hard to believe how time flies. Things have really progressed technologically! :D

Speed Ovens! Wow! Where have they been hiding? It is an oven that can also microwave, and at the same time! It Bakes, it Microwaves, it Roasts. It can roast a large whole chicken in 25 minutes!

We're looking at an Electrolux to replace our microwave, along with their single wall oven, like this one:

Does anyone here use Speed Ovens?

Too bad it won't mix the ingrediants  Amazing what is available out there !

But back to your question, sorry, nope have never tried it.

Hahahaaaa. My baby is a 1948 Chambers Stove. I searched for a couple of years to find the right one, and then had it completely gone over and cleaned for safety. I have an old ugly microwave in my house, but as soon as I find an appropriate exhaust fan, it's going away. I don't like microwaves.

Mine is an oldie but goodie. I hope it doesn't give out soon.

WOW!!! I haven't heard of these... sounds great though :D:D:D

Sounds snazzy! I just got a new gas range last year, hope it lasts my lifetime. I really would like a new exhaust fan though.

it does sound interesting.
anyone suggest a good dishwasher?? our old one is Fridgeadaire gallery, not expensive. Maytag? Whirlpool? I'm at a loss on appliances too.

For dishwashers buy the one that is low noise. The new small ovens that do it all are great but a royal pain to keep clean. I buy the smallest microwave I can find. We only use it to heat food or make popcorn. I buy new countertop appliances every so often. The energy savings get better every year on them. I don't wait for the old one to break. When it starts looking grungy, I get another one. And the new ones are always cheaper the the one I bought before! My thinking is all major brands of appliance work the same, it's the extras and looks that are different. I'm looking for a new fridge. The one I have is too big, now that the kids are out of the house.

I will need all new appliances soon. the dishwasher will wait because the plumber just left and gave me an estimate of $3800.00 to get that and the garbage disposal and sink unstopped. he must run new pipes, etc. We have an old house and everything is going bad.
so later on i may get a new dishwasher, but also need both bathrooms fixed. He even told me they may have a job opening for dispatcher! I may have to take it!!!

When my last dishwasher died, my husband and I went to Lowe's and asked the guy for the quietest dishwasher they had. Our kitchen and living room are open to each other, and the old dishwasher was so loud we could only run it after everyone went to bed because it drowned out any other noise in this half of the house.

The man took us to the Bosch dishwashers, and said they were the quietest. We bought one (about 7 or 8 years ago!) and it's the absolute best dishwasher I have ever had. It's so quiet you don't realize it's on, and it actually cleans the dishes better than anything else I have had. This is the only dishwasher I have ever had that I have never cussed, swore or complained about. I wouldn't buy any other brand now.

My refrig started slowing dying early last week. By Saturday it was taking it's last gasps!! :-( My mom was over for dinner and offered to buy us a new one! Yay Mom!! I bought a Whirlpool, white to match my vintage stove. Wider rather than taller. It's very cold, which is the important part. Nothing fancy, either.

After spending $3000.00, i now have my dishwasher working again. and new pipes all the way to the basement. new garbage disposal too, which is very quiet.

i priced the Bosch dishwashers and they are expensive. i'm sure they must be good too though. but for now, i'll keep my old one. the plumber set it differently i guess because it really cleaned and the dishes were almost too hot to get out.
he also gave me a quote of another $3000.00 to install a new water heater and other things. goodness, if he walked around this house every day he'd find something needing repair!
