This is reallyyyyyyyy strange.. I got a call yesterday from someone saying they were from microsoft. ( of course they did not speak english very well) They said I had to delete something or in two hours my pc would crash. :?: :?: Well I laughed it off thinking who the heck was that.

Well last night sure enough my pc crashed. :x I fought last night to figure out what was going on and finally gave up. This morning I got in here and started playing with it. deleted all my downloads, removed my history and all my cookies. WaLa. back online. Sure was strange.
This guy told me he was from microsoft and if I did not delete my downloaded content it would crash. I asked him how he knew that and he said because I had registered my pc. I asked him again what I was supposed to do and he hung up on me. Has anyone else got this phone call or had similiar happen?

Suspicious.

Definately suspicious. Even if you had registered your PC, and had your phone number - how would he have known that you were going to crash?

Have caller ID? Can you look up that number?

Unfortunatly I ws on the phone with someone else at the time and I did was not able to get the number from the phone. My pc had been acting kind of funny the last few days and it had done that internet explorer has encountered a prob and needs to close thing. They did mention something about downloading some sort of content on my pc. Heck I dunno but everything is checking out ok now after I did what he said I had to do. My antivirus is in check and says everything is ok. Spyware says all is good. :?:

be sure to run some cleaners on your PC as well - I use CCLeaner, Eusing Registry Cleaner, and AVG, also Malwarebytes. All Free. Go to Cnet.com to make sure you are getting the real thing and a safe download.

After my laptop crashed and I was able to get it back up, I used the registry cleaner and it found like 20 or more errors.

Something strange was happening all week-end with our pc also. It started Fri. and is back to normal now. Couldn't get on FB at all. Also wouldn't open certain windows, but I didn't have any trouble getting on this site, thank heavens. Glad you were able to fix your crash on your own.

oh yes! suddenly yesterday a box opened on mine about being infected with a virus, said I needed a Windows update. Dumb me, I had judt delayed the last update, so I clicked the space. Now I have abig words all across my monitor talking about all the things I will lose etc., andwhile I know now it was a thing trying to get me to buy a program, can't get it off the monitor, or open any of my programs, not even my antivirus one!! Everything I try to open says it is affected by a virus and unable to open. S, now I have to call the GEEKS sQUAD, SPEND S LOT OF CASH OR GO NUTS!lol Using hubbys laptop right now, and can't say I love it, at least not yet.LOL Got this one for him for XMas this year. lots of mistakes here because I can't get use to the keyboard.
