I need to know if I am just becoming an old nagging witchy woman or if others are experiencing the same problem. Seems all I am doing is filing complaints lately. I wrote TWO complaint letters to JC Penney yesterday.

The store was understocked and disorganized. Stuff was on the floor, in the aisles, it was like a Big Lots. I drove 40 minutes one way to find out they only had half the stuff I wanted. I had to take my third choice to get anything without ordering it online. I went to Kohls!

Then they must be taking lessons from Joann's because I completed a survey and received a 15% off coupon valid for 30 days. The things I wanted had to be ordered online. They are running free shipping but I could not get the free shipping and use the 15% from the survey so that coupon was useless!

Kohls has a Facebook page and they tend to be very responsive to issues that are posted on the Facebook page.

If you aren't a member of Facebook, try calling Kohls customer service with your order number and explain what happened and see if they can apply the 15% off for you. Kohls is usually pretty good in the customer service department.

Worth a shot.

Kohls probably would honor that. They would love your business. My only problem with Kohls is they don't like tall people. I'm 5'9" and they don't have pants long enough for me. I even checked in the mens dept. and they didn't have pants long enough either. Its not like I'm 7' tall. I do like the shirts and other stuff there though. :D

I fill out complaints all the time. Ranging from poor customer service to filthy stores. I shop online at Kohl's it's the only place I have found that carries the Levi's I wear.

If no one took the time to let the Corpate office know what was going on, then nothing would be corrected. If I have to call in, I ask for the regional manager to return my call.

You would think that the way things are today, that the stores would work with the customers............Michele

Our Joann's is good about coupons but it might be that because there's a Hancocks and a Hobby Lobby close by.

One of the wonderful things about the web is that we no longer have to suffer in silence. Go to the corporate website and complain. I do. I also like after my recent visit to the Urbana, Il., Meijers go to the corporate site to compliment if I've had good service, clean store, etc.

it isn't wrong to look for full shelves and top level customer service when we go into a store.

however, there isn't much point to complaining about it here. it won't change anything and it just encourages others to pile on with their own horror stories.

I went to a store where I used to live...had to use the restroom. The restroom was unbelievably FILTHY...I'm talking poop and used toilet paper all over. UGH!!! I went to the manager and told him about it. After shopping an hour, I went in again.......still the same, NOTHING had been done. I lived within blocks of the store....went back out of curiosity about 4 hours later and STILL nothing had been done about it. I then wrote a letter to the head of the store, with copies to the store manager AND the health department. I had a friend that worked there...she said the manager was fired because of that issue - I'm sure it was the straw that broke the camels back. I, too, will write and complain. They want my money. I don't believe in NOT saying anything. If everyone had quit shopping there, then my friend and others that weren't responsible would have lost their jobs because the store would've closed down. I, too, have had some really weird offers....like a coupon for online shopping, but not getting the full benefit because the shipping costs more!!! Write them and send the coupon back with an explanation!!!!

This is the largest community of women consumers I know of. And I was actually looking for curtains and lamps for my sewing room plus the coupon thing reminded me so much of the Joann's situations. I wondered if it was a systemic problem with Penney's or just the local stores or if I was being picky.

i wasn't there with you so couldn't testify about it in court. however, your perception of the situation was probably accurate. it's something i've noticed myself in a number of different stores.

you did the right thing by sending letters.

since the horror stories have already started, i'm going to nip it in the bud and lock this.
