Ever notice that sometimes you get more help than you need?
Yukon Jack has the need to be noticed. He demands more attention all around. Much more than Riley. But the best helper??? That award goes to DH - I purchased some fabric for the back of this quilt and DH wasn't so crazy about it. I told him I could go find something else. So - today I went SHOPPING and found a red for the back and 6 yards of other fabric. They just happend to "fall into" the cart. What's a girl to do? I just had to buy them  Bet he wishes he kept his opinion to himself- would have been cheaper :!:

Such adorable pics, both Yukon and avatar! They love to be right in the middle of the quilting projects. Mine like to sit on the cutting board to supervise my cutting!

But it's not HIS :(
This is being made for my cousin's daughter. She is getting married next month.

NINNIE-we got him from a Great Dane rescue. They took in the doodle puppies when the breeder died and found all the dogs a home

Yes the pets need to help since they are use to monmmy being all full of threads and she spends so much time in one room

Tell Yukon and Riley Hello from Cher!!!  kissy kissy!!!!!

Cute! My big dog lays at my feet when I am sewing, under the cabinet, where he almost fits! He gets the machine to sewing sometimes when he lays on the foot pedal! Now I have to turn the machine off when I walk away!

What cute pictures. I love all my quilting helpers. I have a cat that sleeps on my lap while I sew. I love it. This is her with my new quilt kit. I swear she is smiling.

What a sweet face he has! Nice quilt too!!

sewnsewer2 10-29-2009 06:23 PM

Awww, what person can resist a face like that? He's cute!

Thankfully my cat doesn't get up on my sewing, I don't allow her to and she minds pretty well. But then she's old (18) and doesn't care to jump that high anyway.

Too cute. I lap quilt and mine always would lay on the bottom edge so then I couldn't move the piece. Now I make sure to put a piece of batting about 12 inch sq off to the side. For some reason this makes him happy and he lays on that instead of what I'm working on. Makes you wonder sometimes "What are they thinking?" Gotta love them!!

joeyoz 10-29-2009 07:34 PM

LOL    I do love your helper. He is sooo cute. His curly fur looks soft. As for DH ROFLMBO!!! Bet he thinks twice before vetoing a fabric. LOL

Aww, aren't quilt helpers the best? Here's Bob Leno holding down a basket of stash so it doesn't float away!

Good Job Bob! It is an important task keeping the stash from getting away. And guarding it from raids. DH had the nerve to come ask if I had something he could use as a rag for his shop

Riley - She is a Goldendoodle (1/2 Golden Retreiver + 1/2 Standard Poodle)

Yukon Jack - He is a Labradoodle. Labradore and Standard Poodle. He happens to be a backcross so he is 1/4 Lab and 3/4 Poodle. It is suppose to make them even less likely to shed. And he doesn't.

I needed a hairy dog instead of a furry breed due to my allergies.

Awww.....your helper looks like a "Pro" at his job! As for DH.....he probably just wanted you to be able to go shopping again...he knows what makes you happy!

This quilt helper is a little bit different. This is Fletcher my blue headed pionus parrot. He was very interested in my applique sewing yesterday. It is a little bit blurry but shows him inspecting my work. LOL

gaigai 10-31-2009 09:49 AM

Aww, Fletcher is too pretty! I have a Sunday conure that does the same thing. I'll have to get a good photo. In the meantime, Poppy squaks "Hi Fletcher"!!

Fletcher you are a Cool Bird!
How long have you had him?
I bet he makes a great inspector. Any other tricks?

gaigai-what is a Sunday conure? Poppy-cute name! Hope you post a picture for us.

canmitch1971 10-31-2009 10:29 AM

Fletcher is only 5 months old. He is a blue headed pionus. I got him about 2 months ago. My other bird, a white capped pionus, died of egg binding in May. I was devastated. I had had her for almost 14 years.

Fletcher says "Pretty bird!!!" to Poppy and if I am not mistaken a Sunday conure is a cross between a Sun conure and a Jenday conure. Am I right??
