RAK Thank You!

Thank you so much for the RAK I received from onaemtnest. She sent a lovely card and a tissue pack cover. I've been meaning to make some of those, but haven't gotten to it -- now I have one!
Thanks again!
Kris

Thanks for starting this thread.
Lets try to keep it close to the top to make finding it easier.

I have received a few RAK's lately that I want to give a shout
out of thanks to.

MSCupid804 for a VA coffee mug
CajunQuilter2 for a LA coffee mug

1 mystery FQ that I have no clue who sent to me.

fayzer 12-20-2011 02:42 PM

I was unaware that this thread existed as I was out of town and behind on the Swap thread. Thank-you for starting this thread Kris, it seems as though to me that it was needed! :0)

I received the most generous and thoughtful R.A.K. from mscupid804 AKA Teresa. This made me gasp as I've not seen this movie but now DH and I will be able to see it thanks to you Teresa. Thank-you for the movie and treats! This is what R.A.K. is all about IMHO is an unexpected 'gasp'/smile/day brightener....

Thank-you Louise for starting this wonderful action that we can participate in!

Quilty-Louise 12-21-2011 05:05 PM

I am very happy that people have asked me (and continue to do so)
about what it is I like to do with my addresses I get when I receive in
a swap.

Saving the addresses so that at a later time I can randomly send the
person a "surprise" RAK has always made ME smile just knowing that
I sent something out to someone who is NOT expecting what they will
be getting.

Word seems to have "spread" and I have been receiving pm's asking me
if I would add their name to my list and will share the list. The list has grown
quite a bit over the last several weeks.

I LOVE reading about someone getting a surprise in the form of a RAK
on a particularly rough day and getting a smile because of it.

Keep up the great work everyone.

Louise, we don't really have to keep it at the top if ALL involved would "subscribe" to it, that way we can find it easy enough. Then if we post to it, it'll keep it at the top.:)

Havplenty 12-22-2011 06:04 AM

thanks i was a bit confused by that statement. i had already bookmarked it so has access to the thread. wasnt sure what keeping it at the top meant.

I got a wonderful note before Christmas from my Dec. SS sustraley and a note of encouragement from another SP, soniboo, because I was so bogged down with making my Christmas gifts.
RAKs from two great gals I've met through the QB.
I think Quilters are the best!

Quilty-Louise 12-26-2011 12:37 PM

I am still trying to find my "mystery" sender of a pretty purple
FQ. Just a post it note saying "Have a nice day!"

There was no name, the return address was mine, could
not read the post mark for a clue that way either.

Until they come forward I am at a loss as to WHO to give a
proper "thanks" and acknowledgement to for the nice RAK.

thomp116 12-26-2011 01:28 PM

But isn't that what makes it random, Louise?

Quilty-Louise 12-26-2011 01:42 PM

Welllllllll it COULD, but how do you properly thank them if you
do not know who did it?

For me what makes it "random" is the not knowing if/when it
might be you to get it.

thomp116 12-26-2011 05:47 PM

Ah, good point!

Havplenty 12-26-2011 08:32 PM

some others may have a different understanding of random. i would think since the sender used your address as the return address they did not want you to know officially who sent it. also since you have mentioned it on the thank you thread, i am willing to guess that the sender has seen that you are ushering out a thank you and feel properly thanked.:) just my humble opinion (jmho).

Krystyna 12-27-2011 05:54 AM

I'm starting to put together my RAKs and won't be letting the recipient know who it's from. Just a note: "You've been RAK'd"

CajunQuilter2 12-27-2011 09:03 AM

I want to thank Quiltymom for my RAK that I received. My son had it in his stack of mail so I did not get it till late yesterday evening although she had sent it and I got it a few days before Christmas. I can't take a picture right now as I can not find the charger for my camera and my phone camera I am having issues getting them transferred right now so a trip to the phone store is needed. But I did get the cutest ornament along with a really cute card. Thanks again quiltymom, it put a smile on my face. :)

mooretll 12-28-2011 04:47 AM

Ok ladies, some raks will be going out this week will it be you? lol

Quilty-Louise 01-09-2012 02:00 PM

RAK THANK YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I received the cutest little "coaster" with a snowman on it
today from
Ladybug 1938.

It is soooooo adorable.

I was going to post a picture of it, but QB is not playing
nice with my computer right now.

Again THANK YOU Ladybug

Krystyna 01-09-2012 02:31 PM

Many thanks to Ladybug from me, too! I got the same coaster and my hot chocolate is sitting on it right now!
Special thanks to my buddy Teresa who sent me the most delightful wine country calendar! I really, really, really needed a new one since the one in my office is still turned to June 2001! Thank you!!!

It seems to me that an RAK is whatever the person sending or receiving it wants it to be... The person sending it may keep it private or let the person know who is sending it, maybe they just want to say HEY I'm thinking about you, or you are Special,, it's up to the sender there.. The Receiver also can take it as, I really needed that today,, a special pick me up... a time to think about the sender... Whatever you want to do it's yours to send or receive.. A quiet thank you is nice... JMHO ( I know I have thanked people in the past using names and sometimes pictures but this is a new year.)

Havplenty 01-19-2012 02:00 PM

krystyna thanks for my needle book, mag and bobbins. much appreciated.

onaemtnest 01-19-2012 03:17 PM

I received and RAK from SEW BEAD IT. A lovely surprise with every piece of fabric something I will be using. You know, I keep reading on the threads, that somehow it seems that these RAK's come at just the right time for the recipients. This one came on a gloomy-can't-decide-if-it-wants-to-rain-or-snow day....wind blowing this was definitely the ray of sunshine missing in my day!

Thank-you Sew Bead It!!!!!

Krystyna 01-20-2012 05:09 AM
