On way tomorrow morning- 5 a.m. comes early.

Going from PA to NC. (I have mimisharon's number to call when I get there). Anyone else close to Jacksonville?

Planning a trip to Hancock's on Saturday (I will be alone or with daughter, but I AM going!) Anywhere else I should go? Want to meet up?

Taking some redwork blocks with me in the car. Have a sewing machine to take to DD so I can sew there if I want. Will have laptop so I don't suffer withdrawals from the internet.

Heading back to PA on Tues. :( Need to have plenty of stash to cuddle on the way home.

Have a great time. If you make it over towards Charlotte, or Gastonia, Mary Jo's is a must for fabric! 32,000 square feet of material.

I love NC! It is my favorite place in the world. Have a great trip!

I hope I'm still here, Barb. Be sure to go to the three quilting shops in Jacksonville:

All About Quilting --- Henderson Drive (my personal fav)

There's one just off hwy 17 N (next to Phillips park, tell your daughter)

and there's one on 17 S just passed the Marine Corps Air Station on the right. It's just about a mile and a half from my house.

BUT my mom is in hospital in WV so I'm preparing to head out. They are very sure she had a stroke but docs have not come round yet and they've only done the ct scan so far.

Enjoy the weather, the heat is nice, the water isn't cold yet at the beach. Hope I get to see you, travel safely!!

Hugs,
Sharon

here are the fabrics I bought. Hancock's reminds me of Joann's. All About Quilting was nice, a small shop but lots of choices. Both of which I will visit again in the future.

The dragonfly fabric is for a baby quilt, etc. for a baby shower I found out about on the drive down here. I need it in 3 weeks.

The Christmas fabrics are to add to my collection of 2 or 3 cardinal prints I have already, I need several for a Christmas quilt I am making.

The purple with the violets and tea cups, I just liked, so I got some for "someday". The various blues are for my DJ, starting to collect fabrics for it. Gingerbread fabric is for fun. Thinking of a frock for my GD.

I also bought 6 yards of a nice blue paisley print for valance, cover 4 chair cushions and a table runner for my newest DIL's dining room. Guess what I'm doing next week end. :)

Barbm - I hate that I'm just seeing this. I'm in Wilmington and I'm home most of the time these days. I haven't been to any of the fabric stores or quilt shops in Jacksonville and I would have loved to plunder around with you. Give me a shout the next time you head this way. You got some pretty fabric. Love the Christmas fabric. I was sick with the flu last Christmas and didn't get to sew anything for Christmas. I haven't even thought that far ahead for this year.

I'm already trying to figure out when we will be back. We decided to go I81 to 17S, 95S and then to here. By cutting out the DC area, I was a much nicer passenger/driver. It really didn't add that much more to the drive so I am ready to schedule time back here real soon.

We will be grandparents again in April, so I'm thinking we should come down and give her a hand since she will have 2 little ones to care for. They went to the movies today for their anniversary and I'm already getting a bit blue we have to leave them all behind tomorrow to return home.

I'll keep you in mind for my next trip, I think I wore Jess out after 2 hours (being pregnant, she isn't much of a shopper right now). I'm enjoying discovering the area and can probably venture out myself next time.

I know its hard. My grandson is in Florida. I go twice a year and they come this way twice a year so it's tough. Jacksonville is just a tad over an hour away and like I said, I'm home most of the time. I only recently learned of the Hancock store in Jacksonville and have been wanting to check them out. Have a safe trip on your way home.

Well, BOTH of you better call me when you are near Jacksonville next time. Did you get to see the other two shops, Barbm? The one closest to me is only open one Saturday a month and I was such a wreak over my mom's situation I didn't think to call her and see if it was her Saturday.

I'm really sad I didn't get to see you!  I was a basket case but now I'm nearly human again! You didn't stay long enough to travel so far out. Missing DC and that traffic is much better than having to go through it. Gosh when I went to Baltimore for my neice' wedding it took me longer around DC AND trying to find the hotel with all their construction going on, than it did for the whole rest of the trip.

I see the fabric you got at All About Quilting, did you tell Jaleena you were looking for me? Kirsta is on a much needed vacation and Jaleena is one of her instructors as well as friend/assistant. We have so much fun there!

Hunnib, PM me when you're on your way to Jacksonville, I'll meet you and we can shop till we drop! Even our Walmart still has fabric.

Hugs,
Sharon
