I have a nesting pairthat comes back to my land every year. These birds are huge, and just majestic. They have a load yell....scares the stuffing out of my bulldog!
I know Spring is coming, they arrived yesterday!

Aren't they just the nose-yest est birds! We hear them all the time in the summer. The scare me half to death when the squawk close by!!

Noisy, yes! Remind me of some prehistoric bird with their huge shadows.
The bulldog wont leave the porch if she hears them!

How about some pics for those of us who don't have them (smile). They sound awesome.

We had a large flock of robins visit a few days ago. I have not seen cranes in my area.

I would love to see some pictures of them.

We have a pair that live in the swamp nearby. Loud and big!

They are so loud that sometimes you can hear them flying overhead, but they are so high you can't see them!

We don't have any in our town, but 40 miles north (work), they have a kazillion of them...I had never heard of them or seen them before.

I call them terra-dac-till (sp?) birds because they do look so prehistoric and that's the first name that came to my mind when I saw them.
