Today is Saturday, I usually make the coffee pot before I head off to dreamland. And my husband plugs it in hen he gets up. Well, this morning much to my horror!! The coffee pot decided to die right along with the power supply on my computer....lol (

So it's off to Bi Mart ( a store here in the Pacific Northwest) to get a new coffee maker. I think I did good, I actually smiled at someone and haven't even had my coffee yet. Usually the family doesn't even look at me until I have had at least one cup of rocket fuel.

My husband took me to get a nice large cup from one of the local roadside coffee huts before we headed back home. So now I have a nicely brewed pot of coffee in the kitchen, no computer.

And I have decided since my CPU is in the hospital, I am going to re-sand my desk and reapply a new layer of clear coat for it's homecoming next week.

What a nice way to welcome it home.

Did lightning strike your house or a nearby transformer? If I had no coffee and no computer on the same day I would not be smiling at anyone except the person who fixed it all. :evil:

You have a great attitude! I love that you aren't wasting time, you are putting your shoulder to the wheel and working on something else while you wait. The one thing that I would have done differently is that I would have had to make a Starbucks stop on the way to Bimart. There is no way I could have smiled at anyone without some coffee. I can do without the coffee but I go into withdrawal without my computer. Good on you for keeping busy making your computer a coming home present.

We had lightening about a week ago. But I keep everything on surge protectors and if its too close everything gets unplugged.

I prefer Panache' coffee huts to Starbucks. I am always doing something around the house. I spent two weeks making the grand daughters some clothes, now I have to clean the house.....LOL The dust bunnies are forming a major offensive in key areas of the house.

Oh no!! My morning was similar...but I had just run out of coffee. This was the whole reason for my trip to the store yesterday, but I received a call from a friend needing an emergency babysitter and checked out without the number one item on my list!

So, I had to throw on some clothes and run to McDonald's for 2 cups to get me through! A morning without coffee is not optional.

Me too, got to have COFFEE!!!!!!!!!!

Well, she is home.

The video card went out on it. So, we went with an upgraded video card and man is it ever fabulous. It's a GeForce GTX465, we had an extra fan added to help suck out some of the heat, this makes 5 fans keeping it cool.

The front fans glows a nice blue color. My desk turned out to be a beauty, I sanded it down to the bare wood and gave it 4 layers of clear coat. The blue tie-dyed looking thing in front of my mouse is my rice bag / wrist thingy. When my wrist is bothering me I just pop it into the microwave, instant heat pad. I run dual monitors for my video games.

Total damage to my Visa card.....$400.00

A morning without coffee would be tottaly ugly around here!LOL! I have instant for back up, just in case.I give you credit for being nice, smiling without any and a pat on the back also!I dont think I would of been able to do it.

Your desk is beautiful! I love the Kokapellis on the front of your cabinets. You were really able to turn lemons in to lemonade with the computer failure. Good job.

Thanks for the well wishes. It is amazing how much one misses an object. But she was in good hands, her "creator" took good care of her.

My desk was a Christmas gift from my husband. I absolutely love it. The top part used to sit a lot closer to the desk itself, but we took the "legs" off the top and hung it directly on the wall. Now my desk doesn't feel so cramped and my monitors fit better.
