Last night and tonight I tried to start free motion quilting my 2nd quilt. First, the bottom thread was loose and making "eye lashes". I couldn't figure it out, so I stopped and started ripping it out. Tonight I tried again (this time on scraps) but my machine sounds horribly loud. So I fiddled around and then got a huge bunch of threads stuck. Then I tried to change feet and do a simple straight stitch and it clogged again and the needle freaked out, shifted, and hit the foot and broke! BAHH!!! I know one issue was that my bobbin was inserted the wrong way. I think I'll take a break and just crochet!

Sorry you are having a bad time. Tomorrow will be a better day.

I have learned to use a sharpie and mark the tops of my bobbins to let me know they are always inserted the right way.
Hope this is helpful. have you checked where your bobbin is inserted to make sure that area is clean and oiled ? There are many helpful people on this board that will walk you thru a lot of problems...just have to ask. They have helped me a lot every time I got stuck. :) |
Make sure you have a new needle also.

Try re-threading the entire machine too!
