The Silent Time Bomb on Your Plate

This is no joke. This video is about an hour long but well worth the time it takes to watch it.
We all need to open our eyes and realize what is being done to our food. Please....take the time and watch!

I watched it. I am a small farm farmer's daughter. I have seen the changes but not realized the the results. I have scoffed at the organicaly grown signs in the markets. But why not? We own 5 acres. Raise our own beef, drink very little milk. We raise a lot of our vegetables. We have apples, oranges, figs and plums in season. I am going to get behind my husband in his desire to build a new "mobil"hen house. I had't wanted him to do this because of cayotes.
What else can I say but thank you for sharing.

Awesome video, Ditter! Thank you so much for sharing it. I am determined to support my local farmers more. We are very fortuntate to have many local veggie/fruit stands where we live (Western Washington State) and I intend to shop there first! I can't wait for our Saturday market to open up, also!!

Thank you Ditter for sharing this - But even "organically grown" vegetables have pesticides in them - was that a shock to me!! Most people are NOT interested in eating healthy. They would rather "take a pill" than to alter WHAT they are eating. As was said in the opening scene on this film "Americans like CONVENIENCE " It is a shame - and down the road their health will suffer. The TRUTH is right before our eyes, and we seem to "look the other way" - Why is that?

Thanks Ditter I am going to pass this around. I got spoiled when I lived in Ga by having a sustainable farm right across the street, and I knew the owners so could go pick whatever I wanted for myself. Fresh eggs, fresh raspberries , fresh tomatoes and pretty much any other veggie you can think of that will grow in GA. Moving to VA beach has been a huge let down. My brothers yard is not large enough or sunny enough to plant anything. I really miss all that "fresh" ... Once you eat it you will never willingly buy from a grocery store again. We do have a farmers market but I have noticed that half the stuff is trucked in so who knows how it was grown. I am going to try a few pots this summer of tomatoes I can move those around during the day .

when I lived in Australia I got used to the organic farm fresh food. Butchers, green grocers, dairy, fruit farms, bakers. Everything tasted better and was only available in season. I loved it.

Here in the US it is all big markets and very little fresh. Trying to find organic and fresh is a pain. It all is bland and tasteless.

Wish I was back in OZ!!

Wonderful video. I wish everyone had this food available. I'm going to try to find it in my area as I already knew that our food was not what it should be.

This is a great video. I just backs up the documentary I just saw, with the same farmer in it. It is on Netflix call Food,Inc. Another one to see is forks over knives on Netflix to. Both great and they really open your eyes. From watching the Food, Inc one, I don't want to eat beef or anything that's not organic.

Yes, the FDA has very loose rules for Organic.

My Grandparents lived to their 80s and ate pork, eggs, used lard for baking and cooking. But I think the difference was it was all produced and prepared right on their farm.No additives, artifical flavors. The fields were fertilized with manure from the animals that were raised there. The chickens roamed free.Oh I can just taste 1 of my GM biscuits with home cured ham and fresh eggs, also a biscuit with homemade syrup and fresh butter. My father made syrup for people in about 5 or 6 Counties around us when I was a little girl.He would let me go with him sometimes and he would give me a cup of the skimmings.Syrup making was a very exact process. The cane had to be just at the right stage and the fire under the cooker had to be just right. You also had to keep that mule walking at the right pace.

What a well put together video- There is so much to be done to get back to healthy food - I love growing my own stuff and shopping at the local farmers markets. It also shows the reason my husband and I are vegetarians, altho there's still a lot of risk that too, with all the chemicals and genetic modifications. At least we are not contributing to those factory-livestock operations. Thanks for sharing the movie, Ditter!

If you eat a fast food hamburger you are eating disgusting made meat. I would not let my child eat in the school cafeteria either, it's the cheapest made food with fillers that can be sold. How many parents check the food that is bought for the school? Who manufactures it, what is the ingredients? It's not healthy food, it just fills the stomach.

Sorry, double post

Great info - thanks for the post!

I watched part of the video and have mixed feelings about it. I am a small dairy farmer. I think that raw milk should be readily available for the public to purchase. Our government disagrees. I drink my own milk and feel blessed to be able to have it. I don't know what the answer is to our food delimia. I cannot imagine small vegatable farmers being able to feed New York City or any other large city. The majority of our population has NO access to grow their own food. What is the answer???? It is very true that we are spoiled with convenient food.
