Someone told me that the Search on the board doesn't return results even when they are sure the topic they are searching for exists.

Does anyone else notice the quality of search degrading?

I might have a few ideas why that could be happening, but I need a confirmation from other members before I proceed seriously looking into it.

If you have any examples of the search function not working properly, then please post them here.

Thanks.

I don't use it often, but recently I tried to find a photo that I had posted. I found one, but the other one is still missing. Perhaps there is a function to search by member posting?
But I would have to definitely say that the site works very well for me. Thanx for all your attention.

Tried it this morning - and it is still coming up with everything but what you are searching for. I'v gotten to when I just search through each catagory till I find what I'm looking for. Hope your ideas work ~ the search would help a lot.

I have no problems with it...but it goes by the title not content so can be hard to find something :D

Try to search for "My $10.00 Quilt" thread that is here.

I search for "My" or "$10.00" or "Quilt" or "My $10.00" or "10.00" and it doesn't come up for me at all. I search without quotes. It has been there for a long time. I dunno.

I have had frustrations with it. I typed in part of the name and got nothing. I typed the exact name (I was sure of it because it was a topic I started) I found it by going a round about way.

I get so frustrated I rarely use it anymore.

I usually can remember who posted what I am looking for, so I go to their name and look at the topics they have started. It used to work well, but it may have been with your change awhile ago and now comes up with almost everything but. Recently I put in the exact title and it came up with junk. When I finally did find it, I was right.

I was looking for the flying geese that purplemem had started and I was told that the thread no longer exists. (I think) I found the topic, but was told that it was no longer available.

How can we tell if a thread was deleted or we just can't find it?

I have found things listed in search results, clicked on them, to get an error message saying topic did not exist, also.

I have never had a problem with the search results. What I am looking for is usually one of the first 4 or 5 listings. What kind of problems are others having?
