Small Pet Bed

I saw this on an email that my mother in law send to me. I decided to make a couple of these for my cats. It can also be big enough for a dog too. I took the biggest sweater I could find and did some sewing and stuffing. I used scraps of material and poly fill. Make sure you stuff the arms well so they can be stiff enough to stay up. My cats fight over them.

What a great idea! When the sweater starts to look nasty you can just go to the thrift store for a replacement. The kitty looks so comfy with pretend arms around it.

Hi, that's really cute. Did you sew the body and the arms together? and did you stuff the body as well? I have a beagle, I think she would love to have one like that also. She has a couple of store bought beds, she likes them. But the minute I put any of my clothes on the bed, she is laying right on top of them, or makes them into a ball before she lays down.

What I did was, I sew from the arm pits of the sweater around the collar area to the other side of the armpit area and made sort of circle which includes the arms. I stuff from the arms all the way around the collar are and arms then stitch the arms at the wrist area. The I stuff the chest area of the sweater real good then I stitched the bottom of the sweater. With a big needle I sew the bottom and all around the chest of the sweater to the bottom of the arms. Which makes a nice circle when sewn together. Your beagle will love it. Use something you have worn. It will have your smell and she will be happy.
