Somewhat quilting related: sewing machine innards in motion

I just stumbled upon this beautifully simple animated picture of how a sewing machine creates a stitch in fabric. I had a fairly clear notion of how this happens, but enjoyed seeing it in action. (I tried to search this site in case anyone else had already posted it, and if they did, I couldn't locate it.) http://manmadediy.com/users/chris/po...actually-works

I thought that was so neat! Fun to see in action.

I loved this. Maybe I won't be quite as prone to rant and rage when the machine has a bad day and acts cranky

This is the best animation I have seen. And to think our sewing machines do it so quickly. They are really engineering marvels. The TV show "The Secret Life of..." did a show on sewing machines and demonstrated how a machine works by using people as the machine parts. I think I saw it on a youtube video. Try searching youtube for "The Secret Life of a Sewing Machine".

Thanks, it really helps to see what the manuals are describing!
