Special Towels

I decided to whip up a towel for my sister and brother. On the towel I put the prayer we used to say at dinner time when we were growing up. It was short and sweet. My mom has been gone for over 31 years and my dad, 11 years, so I thought this would bring back a pleasant memory. I had to make myself one too.

What a sweet, sweet memory! I'm making for myself & 3 brothers embroidery panels of little bear in Christmas stocking that my Mom embroideried. Sewed Christmas themed fabric around for borders & put flaps on back to hold straw, dowel, etc to hang. Will try to post pic.
Also have made a dresden plate out of my deceased hubby (11 yrs) ties + 1 for my son & daughter...for wall hanging. Then found cute wall hanging to use old ties that I want to try too. It's paper pieced..

Love these. Both our parents are gone and there are 4 of us and this is exactly the same "grace" we said at every meal!! Like the trim on the towels, too!

We said the same prayer (except the first 2 lines in reverse order)...great idea!

Those are special. I'm glad you made one for yourself, too.

I remember saying that prayer in my childhood. How sweet.

When he was little, my husband used to pray " dear God, please make this food taste good"! I'm sure his mother loved it!

We said the same prayer, but added, "By His feet we are fed, by His hands we are led, Give us, Lord, our daily bread." What a precious memory!
