Well Ms Star is now on cam. She is NOT close to foaling yet :) Dont want anyone thinking we need to watch closely yet. We are now bringing her in every night as I am upping her feed as yet again the foal is really bringing her down. Shes only about half bagged up so no need to watch all night. She is a sneaky mare though so starting around July 1 we will start watching closely.

I just didnt want anyone turning on the cam and wondering who is in there LOL.

Since we never got to watch Star on cam last year (she foaled without warning during the day) this way we can get to know how she acts in the stall and what is her normal.

Thank goodness this is our last one for the year. Okay lets all think FILLY really hard LOL.

Star is a registered shetland pony/miniature horse. Shes a black & white pinto with blue eyes bred to Black. She had a beautiful colt last year Baxters Black Jim Beam but it was a dystocia. Hopefully she will foal much easier this year and give us a little warning

Her actual due date is July 6th. Which makes me really nervous about being gone for that show but hoping she will do like Patches and wait for me to get back. Star actually loves being in a stall so would prefer to never come out again LOL. Shes always been a loner and never hangs with the other horses. Kyle says shes EMO :lol:

Star seems to poop more in a line along the wall, whereas Patches and Dancer did it more in a circular pattern..LOL

Yeah, it's a laxative, but the only one that isn't addicting. Evidently if you use laxatives enough, you eventually can't go without them. This stuff supposedly doesn't do that. And it works. Well. I don't have PERSONAL experience, because no matter what anyone says, I am not FOS, but I do have professional experience! :twisted:

I never took a laxative but I did drink loads of prune juice when I was overdue with Lily and it had the same effect... my midwife told me it might induce labour - sure induced my bowels!

The worst has to be Patches. I was so glad to get her out of that stall! Shes such a pig in her stall!

Yep I have to work show horses early as its so hot here. Then feed, clean stalls, switch stallions around. The fun never ends :D

Kay if I was closer I'd come and help you shovel - as long as I could take some away for my garden! LOL

Okay my rule is never count horses LOL. I keep telling hubby not to count :) But since you asked with the new foals right now its 17 :shock: But I have about 5 horses for sale. It goes up and down a lot. Dang I should not have counted lmbo

Wow, that's a lot of manure to haul! Not to mention hay and grain! And Mom kept asking all through the last two mare stares' "Where are the men? Why aren't they helping her? Why is she the one doing all the work!" I told her it was because the horses liked you best! ROFL, but seriously!

I have to say Kyle and Russ do a lot of heavy lifting around here. And a lot of putting up fence etc. I couldnt do this without them for sure!! Its too bad we dont have a cam that shows the whole barn. Then you would see us out there about 100 times per day always doing something. Hubby got laid off his job recently (which is why you see him home now during the day) He was just shocked at how many trips per day I make to the barn. He really had no idea how much work it was until he got laid off. He keeps saying he needs to get back to work as Im wearing him out LOL
