I got a rude surprise gift to start off my birthday today, it was a tornado warning at 6:30 am! Drug out of bed, checked radar to see a string of severe storms headed toward me. Fortunately, it never materialized. Back in 1995, on May 18, my wedding aniversary, there was a tornado that hit a building (a high school) I was in at the time. Can mother nature stop with these rude gifts? Maybe the day will get better. IMO

Happy Birthday. I got that wake-up call too, but I was already up. I was actually planning on going in early today (and leave my house at 6:45), so I stuck around until about 10 minutes after it expired to make sure that the warning was not extended. I've got a siren real close to my bedroom window :-).

Not a nice way to start your day.

WOW!!! I went to a family reunion Saturday and
stayed in a hotel close to Lexington that night and
I almost stayed another night. If I had, I would
have woke up to the same thing right along with you!!!

that was a bummer wasn't it? I woke to hearing a man's voice( the warning system near-by. Jumped out of bed, into clothes and TV turned on. All we are getting ( or got) here in Lexington is rain. I really prefer tornado warnings that come i daylight hours, not in the dark! Hope everyone is okay.

Happy Birthday!! My weather radio did not go off so I slept right through the whole thing! Husband called later in the morning to see how I did through the storm. Great, missed it! lol
