Tablets for going online
 

So not sure where this subject has to be but I remember seeing a post awhile ago about what Tablets you guys all like. How you get on this board and a few others and read your Quilting Magazines on but can not find the post.....I am interested in buying a Tablet but so many to chose from........what should I look for or what do you guys think the best ones are........without breaking the bank....lol

Ipad is #1 in my opinion.

IMHO the iPad is great. I have had one for a long time and love the way everything looks on its screen. My Mom actually watches Downton Abbey on her iPad because the color is so much richer then her hi-end flat screen TV.

Get a netbook, they are very inexpensive run about 250, and are smaller than a laptop. ipads are pricey

I just got the Samsung Galaxy 10.1 tablet...love it. It is Wi-fi only so if you want 3g also, I think the IPad is the only tablet with it. I am not a fan of Apple's OS thus the reason I went with the Galaxy. Actually using it now.

my hubby loves his acer icconia you can add to the size without breaking the bank if you run out of room it uses android apps you can store tons on it go online send stuff to your printer read books play games etc and it was just about the cheapest tablet on the market at the time he bought it. so far he hasnt found much it wont do other than the dishes )).

Asus Transformer or Transformer Prime is really neat. Does everything the others do, without any monthly or yearly required subscription to anyone. Android based and seems to be compatible with all the commonly used programs. Strictly WiFi. About $459-499. Available at Office Depot. Do I have one?....NOT....still procrastinating on necessity.:p

We have an Asus desktop computer and it has been a workhorse with no troubles. I had never heard of them before. A cute little computer geek at BestBuy told us all about them and how great they are. We did a little research and two years and not a hick-up. So far he has been right.

Hi, I got a Pandigital Supernova for Christmas, I love it!! My hubby got it for me from QVC . It has a 8" touch screen, front and back camera and a good size keyboard. I read magazines, search the web, do e-mail and read my kindle books on it. The best part is it was only about $185.00. I've been recommending it to everyone . :)

This is the tread I started. I actually got the NOOK Tablet. I have only found one quilt mag that is available for any of the tablets/ereaders. But have emailed a couple of others and have been told they should be available very soon. I liked the support I got at Barnes and Noble. That is why I got the NOOK. They even offer free classes on learning to use them. Sales person said they will teach me anything I need/want to know. Best Buy was NO help! Walmart was OK, but it is always hard to get assistance, and need one on one direction for somethings. The tablet has regular internet, so you can visit all the internet quilting sites. I used it all weekend and I am HOOKED!!!! Also, the newest tablet, 16g, allows "side loading" to and from your computer. The class will help me with that, I hope to be able to scan stuff into computer and side load it to the NOOK so I have current project info with me when I go shopping, etc. Hope this helps. I had a hard time deciding. Best buy said the tablets did nore than the ereaders, and the Nook is the cheepest of the tablets I saw. Pd. $250, plus $50 for "idiot insurance", and I got a B&N membership and got $25 off the purchase, making the membership free. Hope some of this helps
