Alicia's first sewing project. Jasmine is with my sister for a week (next week is Alicia's turn to go), so we used some of the ribbing fabric that PurplePassion sent us to make Barbie outfits. Alicia did the yellow and green top and skirt, while I showed her the ropes with the pink one. She did pretty well for her first time hand sewing.

Those are some stylin' Barbies! It's refreshing to see them with heads and hair. Don't ask! My dad used to sew my Barbie clothes! In between boat sails, he'd whip me up a killer outfit for Barbie!

We expect to see more great outfits from you in the future. Keep up the good work :)

Wow, that is just super, you both made great outfits for Barbie. I love Barbie too, and have several. I used to collect them, but have ran out of space, so now I only admire them from afar. But, occasionally one of my kids give me one, and I just don't have the heart to tell them that I have quilt collecting. It can become an obcession.

Anyways, you did a wonderful job at making Barbie some new cloths, and it won't be long before you start sewing something for yourself. With Moms help I just know you can do it.

Hugs and more hugs,

rein 04-16-2009 06:13 PM

You go Alicia!!! Super Job!!! If you keep up the pace, you will be showing your Mom new techniques really soon.

So proud of you.

Love Auntie Rein

wow- those are beautiful outfits. I remember making clothes for my barbie (she was handicapped barbie as I had 5 older brothers who would steal her legs/arms/head at different times) . I seem to remember tape was involved in some of the dresses :):):) Your girls are obviously leagues ahead of me. Great job!

Barb M 04-18-2009 12:46 AM
