It HAS to be a joke. My phone rings all day long any more.

When you use key tags to get discounts at places like pharmacies and grocery store you will get targeted ads. Most of us have been selling our privacy for a bit of a discount since the mid 1970's. It's too late to put that genie back in the bottle. It just gets more obvious and more annoying when something happens that makes you a more attractive target for advertisers. For example, around the time my grandson was born I made a diaper run and started getting all sorts of baby oriented coupons and offers.

I seriously doubt that doctors anywhere in the world are participating in this sort of information sharing in any significant way.

Caller ID is the best! We answer NO calls that are not identified, or from organizations, or people we do not know. The call rolls over to the answering machine...If it were important, they'd leave a message. Usually the "Robo" message has to do with lowering my interest rates on credit cards, (we don't have any balances) or, they can refinance our mortgage...(don't have one of those either!!) DH has diabetes, and in the beginning we got tons of those calls, and lots of mailings also. Not so much now...think they gave up!!

I second this information, and also ppl that DO call after you have asked them to remove your name from their call list: they are breaking the law. We remind them of that.
