these kids are hanging out in our spare room.....

these 8 dolls are hanging around in our spare room waiting for a child to love them. They are for children with devastating illness, like cancer, physical/mental abuse, transplants, etc. Normally for kids 2 to 8 years of age, but exceptions are made dependent on circumstances. Dolls are free. Most go locally to the American cancer society in our country and adjoining one as they distribute them for me free to a little one with cancer. If other children with cancer, etc from other states are in need, hubby and I do all we can to see a doll goes their way. Each girl takes 12 hours to finish, the boys not so long a time since they wear street clothes. The girls are 23/24 inches high and boys are 28 inches high. If you know of a child that is VERY sick and in need of such a doll, please contact me via a PM message with details, or ask for my e-mail, and I will send it via PM

Very nice dolls and I'm sure a sick child would love having one. Good of you to make and give.

Thanks Jingle. Glad you enjoyed seeing them. It is an honor to help these children with such problems

You are an Angel and I know these are well-loved! God bless you and your husband.

Your dolls are precious. What a wonderful thing you are doing to give them to children in trauma.

may have two going out in 2 or 3 days. I just found out about them on a forum. Think one was a knitting forum and one from here. keep checking mail to get more info so we can mail the doll (s) out. One is a child with cancer age 6. That was from the knitting forum. Thanks to all of you for taking time to reply about the dolls.

Is this a private project or are there patterns somewhere? It looks like a very worth-while project.

Sweetness is what they are...you have a good heart and soul and it shows. I'm sure many children over the years have loved on your gifts. Thank you for caring :)

Vicky,

I wanted to wish you a most happy birthday, today, Aug 8th! I plan to go shopping after work today and send you an airmail package tomorrow. I hope you have a wonderful day because you deserve one, for all you do for others!

Deborah

Darling! I am sure that they will be loved.

wordpaintervs 08-07-2012 10:14 PM

I am the designer of the dolls. If you can promise that a minimum of one will go out to a VERY sick child, and keep my name with the design, I will send a pattern of girl and boy body, template for skirt and top plus instructions. I will need a PM with mailing address. Vickey

Thanks so much for the Happy Birthday wish. I am 72 now. I appreciate all you are doing on behalf of the dolls. Two more go out tomorrow or the next day to a child in need of comfort.

Thanks for taking time to reply to my posting about the dolls. I hope each doll finds the right child to love her, and that at the end of day, when all is quiet, she will be cuddled and loved ...and in the world of imagination reach out to cuddle and love in return. It is comfort for these kids I do this. God bless you and yours.

We have a wonderful children's hospital here in the Indianapolis area. It is called Riley's Children's Hospital. They treat children who are very ill....cancer patients, AIDS, etc. I bet that some of those kids would love to snuggle your beautiful dolls.

takes a long time to make a bunch for a hospital, but if you know of one or two in particular, I could send them your way to take to them. If you'd like my 'mickeymouse style' homemade pattern for them, I'd be glad to send it your way. All I ask is that my name remain with the design. I'd also send the dress templates and instructions. If you want to have a go at making them, send your snail-mail address on a PM and I'll get it to you. THanks. BIg hugs. I'd offer to send a bunch, but it costs up to 23 dollars each and we don't have enough money in reserve to do that. Poor sweet kids. Let me know please. HUGS
