Thinking About A Blog, Need Info

My DD and I are thinking about having a Blog. We have no ideas about how to go about it. I know that lot's of you have them. How do we go about it and what do you advise?

I have mine through blogspot.com and have noticed a lot of people use it...

I use blogspot and also my two dotters do also. I use mine to show and tell my accomplishments with quilting and sewing. I don't think anyone reads it but my dotters. Please go and take a look, I have a piece on quilt battings that you might find interesting.
