to change your passwords on your email, and on your facebook!
my girlfriends facebook account was hi-jacked and her email.

also take time today to update your virus protection programs.

better safe than sorry!

and i will shout it from the rooftops till we reach the end of the internet:
anti-virus protection is good, but your still nekkid, if you don't buy Spyware protection also.
(also thinking of some kind of malware protection, but don't know where to get it!)
Your butt can't be covered enough on the internet...ask me how I know and I'll tell you about two weeks of borrowing DD's computer, only to find out, I affected her too!
All's well, though...she was covered! smart girl

Thanks for the reminder!

Thank you for the reminder :D:D:D It never hurts to change these often... stupid hackers

My antivirus program has spyware already incorporated into it

My antivirus has pinged and flashed at me just cruising through quilting sites... those little spy/malware are everywhere as well as viruses...

One that was really hard to get off of my computer was a free download I tried years ago. You got free smilies, wallpaper, screensavers, etc... It really grabbed on and wouldn't let go... talk about a mess!!!

Firefox has an add-on called "Web of Trust" and it's really neat - it will let you know in a big way if a website is considered a risk. Even doing a google search there are things beside each website that shows up - green (ok) orange (shady) or red (bad)

I use Firefox. Where do you find the "Web of Trust"? Is it a download? Where do you go to find and download?

you have to runt hem yourself, because they are free..but i do it more often..a few times a week.

QuiltingGrannie 06-08-2010 12:26 PM

I use Firefox too and still my laptop got hit a couple of weeks ago!
Had a geek friend fix it and put malware and spyware protection on it! Runs good now, but the "A" key is sticking..... must be from the donuts at Marsye's :-D
