I had my School advising today. It went very well. I loved every minute!

I received my id today, and the photo taken for that is alright, although I look worried for whatever reason.

I received my schedule too! 3 courses, which are Spanish, English Comp. 1, and World Religions of Chicago.

I think I had more excercise today than I have in a long while... lol I cannot WAIT this fall!!!

Good luck this fall!!

So are you going to school close to home ?

It is always exciting to start something new , especially a new phase in your life

Alu_Rathbone 06-21-2010 01:24 PM

Yes, my school is about a half hour away, but I'm staying on campus... due to family situations...

Enjoy this new phase of your life, but don't forget to study!

I already have a reading assignment! I have to read this book for my First Year Seminar... it's called "Where Am I Wearing" By: Kelsey Timmerman. I hope it's as interesting as the title!

I have a blog that I've started to document my adventures through college!

You Go Girl! You are at the beginning of a wonderful adventure and I am so happy for you! Do the very best you can in all of your classes and everything else will fall into place.

So glad that you are able to go to school!! I hope it is a wonderful experience for you!

I just love that you are advancing your education. I have been teaching for 35 years. My best advice for your success is "Never Skip Class." Good luck!

I need to take a basic skills test in order to get into the education program... which I can do in august... but the test amount is astronomically high for computer based... and I have to do the computer based one... cause the next test date I'll be WAY out of town. $170 for a test! Is that not crazy?

littlehud 06-22-2010 08:08 AM

That is crazy, but it rates right up there with the price of books.

I am assuming your schedule is not yet complete? 3 classes is not full time at least in any college I ever attended, you need at least 4 classes (or 12 credits minimum) per semester to be considered full time. In my experience, not all advisors give you 100% accurate info all the time. Sometimes they mess up. I would double check and make sure if I were you. Or do you have to wait on your placement test for the math course? You may also want to consider piling on one more class this semester seeing as you have so many grants to pay for it. Many schools that charge for full time coursework allow you up to 16 credits at no extra charge from the standard 12 credit semester.

"Basic full-time course load of 3.00 to 4.75 courses (12 through 19 hours) for traditional full-time undergraduate students; accelerated programs for adult students are not included."

Straight from the school site itself. If I had my way I would have also had Psy 210 Intro to psych. But I'm on an academic contract till spring semester. And this is a full time course load for this school.

The math I've already have the results for and I'm signing up for that class in the spring.
