Three Dog Night is a saying from the Aborigines in Australia...it was cold when they needed to sleep with 3 dogs to keep them warm. That's where the musical group got it's name!

We've got rain coming down...that chilly "let's put a pot of soup or stew on and bake some bread" kind. Good! Maybe it will get rid of the dense fog that has been hanging around.

Sleeping with dogs is like an electric blanket, lol! Good thing I have 3 too, cant afford an electric blanket!

Reckon I could live with just a wood-burning fireplace, candlelight, and tons of heavy old quilts like they did when this old cottage was built..... :?

Jan in VA, zapped with 2.5x increase in electric bill for Dec.

Does switching off everything really save much energy, we tried and onitored this and there seemed little difference.
Will say the oil for CH and aga has got SO very very expensive and found that in the very cold days leaving CH on lower than norm permanently has really made a difference as it warms the fabric of the house and it keeps warm rather than the boiler busting a gut to do so if only on night and morning.
