We'll be visiting family in Alameda, California this week and next week. Any suggestions for quilt shops nearby to visit?

Thanks.

I lived there for 3 yrs along time ago and don't remember any shops. The good thing is that is right there by San Francisco, Oakland and San Jose. There was a extremly large flea market in San Jose (I think) about 30 min from Alameda that was great. You can find everything there and it takes you all day to get thru it; and the food. I still miss the jalepeno french fries. Yummy

The Cotton Patch is always a nice shop to visit.

There is New Pieces in Berkeley (lots of batiks and asians)[they are right off 880 (?). There is Always Quilting in San Mateo. There are a couple toward Fremont. There is Prairie Queen (off 17 near Camden) in San Jose and The Granary and Eddie's Quilting Bee in Sunnyvale, if you have a car.

Cotton Patch is over the "hill" from Oakland in Lafayette. It's a nice store, too.
