Have been having trouble getting into my Hotmail email account. Hotmail made me change my password, I got into account for a few minutes, when I tried to get in later in the day I couldn't get the Hotmail website. Anyone else having these problems? May in Jersey

This was a couple years ago, but I kept having trouble with my Hotmail account. I ended up having to change to Gmail. I couldn't get into my account.

Changed my password once again and now I can get in without any problem. I didn't change it much, just put a few of old password letters into caps and that seem to satisfly Hotmail. Go figure, May in Jersey

Just make sure you didn't inadvertently give your new password to some criminal out there....

I think that with increased security concerns various online sites are requiring longer &/or 'more complicated' passwords in order to discourage unauthorized use.

Glad you got it solved!

I also have hotmail email. Sometimes when their servers are really busy, I'll have trouble getting in and get a message across the screen saying "Servers Too Busy", but it usually only takes a couple minutes and I can get in. It's a pain to switch your email over, notifying everybody, etc. Glad it's working for you now.

I had that problem....where my password no longer worked. Someone has hacked your e-mail account. When you get in, delete everything you can, WRITE down your contact's addresses and start a new account in Gmail. I suggest writing down the contact's addresses. If you transfer them across, the hacker may be able to get in your gmail account. I don't know for sure, but it sounds like they can.

Good news for me --- I like Gmail a HECK of a lot better!

True, with how many times it was changed, you may have given them one they can remember.

Like I said before,

I don't use social networks sites, hotmail, gmail or any other email but the one my internet providers gives me.

Just more stuff to let the bad guys have using those services. A while back someone tried to use my Amazon.com account. My bank was contacted by Amazon and they canceled my Visa card. Although I do suspect my now ex DIL, I can't prove it.

I quit using Hotmail after their latest round of "improvements" - too hard to use. Hello, some of us are over 30 and are not thrilled when things we are used to are changed arbitrarily.

Tried to get a Gmail account, you need a cell phone to get one.
Hello again, I live in a very rural, hilly area with NO cellphone coverage, so I don't have a cellphone.
Went with Yahoo Mail, very happy.

Be careful with hotmail it’s getting hacked.. 3 of my friends have gotten their hot mail hacked into. Had to get new emails to get away from it. I don’t understand why this has to happen but guess some one gets their jollies from screwing up others lives.

Some hackers can get in if they get a hold of a certain address associated with you email account. It is a type of "back door".
So you can change your password, but they can still get into your account....
You may want to consider getting a new email provider, it sounds like they are using this method to access your email account :(
