TV in Bedroom
years ago, I read that couples who have a TV in their room sacrifice their love life and intimacy to watch TV.
Tonight my DH and I have on the TV and we're each pounding on our separate laptops. Guess we won't have to pull the shades tonight! :D |
hehehhe...I have had the TV in my bedroom my whole adult life....with HBO, skinamax, and DVD players, it is more fun!
|
LOL I heard that years ago - wonder what the "experts" have to say about all the new gadgets that have come out since that report
I can't sleep without a TV for background noise - maybe that explains why I am single  LOL |
Hate having any electronic/tv/etc. equipment in our bedroom....don't even have a digital clock. Have enough electronics during the day....don't need them while we are chillaxing in the boudoir.
|
No tv in our room.. There's seven other rooms he can go into if he wants to watch tv...
Same goes with laptops --- no place for them in our bedroom One exception iPhones - we use them instead of alarm clocks. We live out in the country , no shades needed for any room !!! |
The TV in our bedroom is on almost 24 hours a day. Of course, there's usually only one human in there at a time. I'm a full time student so I'm always up late and hes a 3rd shifter and needs the background noise to sleep during the day.

Before I retired I worked the midnight shift. Needed the TV to drown out noise from outside so I could sleep during the daytime. So yes, the TV has been in our bedroom forever. Now I turn it on and put it on sleep timer so it goes off shortly after I fall asleep.
|
I never heard that but it makes sense.

Have not had a tv in bedroom, and don't plan on it. My parents had one in their bedroom, and I decided no way! :)
|
Have to have one on in the bedroom... only way to sleep, it drowns out all the SNORING!
|
We only have one TV, in the LR. Now will someone tell me why, when I am watching TV and fall asleep, when I get up and go to bed, I can't sleep?
|
No TV in bedroom in 34 years of marriage. Thinking about one for sewing room.

We have had one for several years, my husband goes to bed before and it is off then. I wear foam earplugs and they block all noise, even my cat that is trying to learn how to talk.
|
Same here!!!! Nothing like snuggling up on the bed to watch a movie --- quite frankly -- MORE will happen doing that than us sitting on the couch and chairs in the living room!!!
|
We had a T-V in the bed room for about 20 yrs. Can`t say we ever used it. Gave it away when it was called an old T-V!

Never a TV in our bedroom, DH did shift work for 25 years, used a box fan for noise blocker and still use one.
Must work, been married over 50 years. |

We have a tv in the bedroom but rarely turn it on. Not against it, but, we tend to read and I put the tv on in the bathroom while I am getting ready in the a.m. Yes, a tv in the bathroom. I watch it when I get ready and when I am soaking in the bubblebath.
|
That's why you need a TV in the bedroom! In fact, we used to have 2 in our bedroom (liked different channels) and they never stopped us from lovemaking. No that we are wayyyy older, only 1 set is needed; he goes to bed early and I go several hours later (most of the time, ha ha). It is so much easier to sleep with the TV on.

I swore years ago I would never have one in my bedroom--thus far have been successful. I don't want or need the additional background noise--and do want a "sanctuary". I do have a stereo system in there though that I listen to when I am in the mood to block the world out.

No TV in our room. No TV reception at all in this house. Havn't watched TV in my home in 18 1/2 years.
|
We have the TV in our bedroom and have had for years. Is that what happened to our love life? And here I thought it was old age. But don't think I'll be moving the TV out though.
|
We have a TV in our bedroom, but it's only on in the morning when I'm getting dressed. Like to hear the news/weather, etc in the mornings. Didn't have this when the kids were growing up though. Strict rule of no TV in bedrooms. I teach school and was appalled about the shows elementary kids were watching in the middle of the night. When my daughter was going off to college she asked if she could finally get a TV for her bedroom. I told her she'd always said that EVERYONE had a TV except her so I was positive her roommate would have one. Don't remember now whether she did or not... Daughter says she had to get married to get a TV in her bedroom. They've been married 10 years and have one child... hmmm... maybe there's a point to that!

Why is it I can sleep with the TV on but not the radio?
