I have a family group picture that is stuck to glass in the center. Can anyone tell me if it can be safely removed and how to do that without wrecking it? Thanks in advance.

Boy, I'd like to know this too! I've ruined pictures trying to take them out of frame :-(

Sorry, no way to unstick it....had the same problem with pics from my MIL....even contacted professionals that print their own and the said "NO WAY" to remove without messing it up. Sorry.

The only suggestion I have is that you scan the picture with the glass attached. Hopefully you won't get any glare from the glass.

That was my thought. And/or freezing it. Sometimes freezing envelopes lets the glue lift from the paper. Sometimes not. Or maybe something that could be sprayed on it, like Oops, (is that the name?) The liquid that takes labels off jars and cleans up solid spills? No, probably not since it would most likely be greasy. Okay, press the other part of the photo onto the glass and spray it with something that will preserve it forever, glued onto the glass. Otherwise, frame it and pretend it never happened. |

I would try first freezing, and then heat from a hair dryer.
Other wise, I would leave it attached to the glass... |
My senior prom picture stuck and my daughter carefully took a drop of water on her finger tip and touched the back of the picture and let it set a bit, then she carefully took a razor blade and from under the front of the picture she picked it gently away from the glass. I had several place the heat made it stick. Didn't have it matted and no A/C in those days. I do not have her tedious nerves....ugh. But I'm glad I got her !!!

Remember, pictures had a photo resistic material that is developed with water. Any other substance might do it other than your intent.
