He dropped off 2 packages, said if I was not home he was not going to just leave the one as it was in origional packing, not covered with outside package material or brown box, so was easy to tell what it was if someone wanted to steal it.
I'm impressed. Not everyone thinks about things like that.

ann clare 01-20-2011 12:42 PM

Very considerate

irishrose 01-20-2011 12:59 PM

My UPS driver brings my packages into the house for me. Last week when I wasn't home, a larger box was placed on the railing in a secure way so I wouldn't have to lift it. Sounds like we both have good ones.

When items are large and heavy they will bring it inside and ask where I want it, very nice.
This item was light, but you could tell by looking on the outside of the box what it was, electronic item.

Our UPS driver leaves on the enclosed back porch our packages when we are not home, they are protected from the weather and out of site.

Grammy o'5 01-20-2011 02:13 PM

That's great!
Its nice when people care about their jobs - that seems to be a pleasant side effect of the present economy. There are some people that appreciate their jobs a little more and seem to be more concerned about good customer service. After all, we do have choices on who we do business with!

Tink's Mom 01-20-2011 02:49 PM

My UPS man used to bring my packages into the house for me...some of them were 30-40#...but now he pretty much rings and runs....I think he is afraid of Tink!

Mellina 01-20-2011 03:01 PM

My UPS guy leaves my packages at the back door. The back yard is fenced in so no one can see anything. Great Guy.

wolfkitty 01-20-2011 03:19 PM

My UPS man is very nice, too. He just drops and runs, too. They are very rushed!

Quiltforme 01-20-2011 03:22 PM

lol...when I was still working, we would whistle at our UPS guy when he would walk in wearing shorts for the first time of the season...I miss him...he had a wicked sence of humor.

our UPS guy also delivers to my office. He will bring it to the office if the weather is bad- he knows hubby doesn't get to plow the drive until late at night.

I had 7 toy poodles. Several years ago my husband & I had unloaded a few things from our pick-up truck. My husband forgot to close the gate. One of my dogs snuck off. Our UPS driver stopped at our house, rang the bell & asked if I was missing a dog. I took a quick count & yep I was. He told me where he'd seen her. If he hadn't stopped & let us know she would be dead. Just as we found her, She ran across the main street right in front of a car. I called her just as she was going to cross back over. She was scared/upset & confused. Thankfully she turned & ran to me. I thaked him mnay times for saving my dog. I thought of calling UPS & telling them he should be put up for employee of the month, but was afraid he'd get in trouble, as I didn't have a pacakge to deliver that day. Our UPS driver also brings packages inside. He really loves me when I order 150 pounds of in shell nuts for my parrots!

Lindsey 01-20-2011 04:29 PM

Our ups driver throws them in the driveway.. ticks me off.

karenchi 01-20-2011 04:54 PM

CarrieAnne 01-21-2011 04:52 AM

Ours is a great guy too! LOL, he honks though, to make sure the dogs arent lurking anywhere!

quiltgrammyt2 01-21-2011 05:06 AM

I came home one day to find a note on the door that said"package in FORD truck" it made me laugh because at my house there are always at least 5 FORD trucks
I bet after he wrote it and took a look around thought "I guess they will be playing Hide-and-Seek"

Mimito2 01-21-2011 05:11 AM

Mine leaves my packages at the store across the street. Guess he gets lunch & potty break with my delivery :)

watterstide 01-21-2011 06:32 AM

Please write note to UPS about this driver..so many people complain, they need to hear the good things too..

G'ma Kay 01-21-2011 07:11 AM

I live rural, and have two dogs. Our driver leaves parcels in our garage, and always give the dogs a treat when he comes. They love him! So do I!

wolph33 01-21-2011 07:17 AM

we are rural and he puts them in our enclosed porch-out of the elements.

wordpaintervs 01-21-2011 02:31 PM

we had a UPS man put our package in the rear of the pick-up, when we were away in the car. He left a note on the door to check pick-up. It was there in such a way, no one saw it from the street. neat huh!

grannypat7925 01-21-2011 04:06 PM

Proves there are still some good people out there!

It might be a matter of time since I understand that they have a rather tight schedule and with every delivery scanned into their computer, their route is very "trackable".

While working, if I had to "sign" for an item I'd include a silly face..then it dawned on me....someone the the middle of the country would definitely know who signed for it!

fidgety 01-21-2011 07:48 PM

Heck my maillady crammed my new twister ruler into our mailbox today along with 2 other squishees that were quit large...... No thoughtfulnes on that one. She also sat in my driveway a couple weeks ago and honked her horn for me to come out and get packages from her. With my bad back hip and all I had to carry them into the house myself... grrr I want your driver!!! lol

ladyshuffler 01-22-2011 05:44 PM

Our driver comes to are back sliding door to leave our packages- no one ever would now we had a delivery- super nice guy and cute tooooo!!

bernie 01-23-2011 06:28 PM

We used to get a lot of UPS deliveries, the UPS guy said he delivered lots and lots of packages, and never was one for him, it was around Christmas time, my husband said we should package something for him. I do glassware paintings. I painted a decorative plate for him and his wife. I wrapped it in a pretty package and gave it to him. If you really like your UPS guy, make him a pot holder or something small, wrap it up. WALA a package for the UPS guy. He'll remember it forever.

the pay forward of caring for ones fellowman can never be a difficult thing. Caring and sharing is everything. Enjoying these replies.

JoanneS 01-26-2011 10:46 PM

Ours puts packages inside the garage where they can't be seen from the street. I wish he could accept tips!

wordpaintervs 01-26-2011 11:28 PM
