Visiting Canada

We are making plans for a holiday and would like to visit Powll River in BC, Canada.
Does any body live in that area or can advise of great places to visit and of course recommend any good quilt shops/groups I could visit ?
Thanks a lot.
DottyD.

I don't live there but have you googled for these things?
MANY years ago when we were planning a trip to Canada, I googled for just these things (minus the quilt shops since I hadn't started quilting then). Among other things, I found out about whale watching. It was a fantastic thing to do and even though my now grown up children forgot many things we did on vacations, they still remember this one.
Google can be a wonderful thing.
(Maybe it wasn't google; I'm not sure if there was a google at that point. But I did look for things of interest in the area we were going to be on the internet. Whatever, it worked!)

Sorry I didn't see this request until this morning, but just wanted to say if you are driving up from Vancouver you could stop at Carola's quilt shop in Gibsons. http://www.carola.ca/ I don't live there, but have visited a few times.

Maybe contact someone from their guild & you could plan a meet up or they could give you highlights of their area. http://www.timberlanequiltersguild.ca/
