Washing football uniform pants/bottoms?

Is there any special way to wash the white football pants/bottoms?

They are white and they are for our sixth grade grandsons. DD said - "oh, can you wash them before their next game?"

They have padding on the legs, etc. and the pads don't seem to be removable.

Also, is there something special to use to get the grass strains off. The care instructions said "do not use brighteners"

I don't know, but I found this thread:

Got most of the stains off -I'm air-drying them so I can try to get the rest of it off 'the next time'

I always sprayed with Shout and let sit for a little while...then washed on warm with my regular detergent. Always got out the "red dirt" that was ground in.

Thanks - I did something like that - dampened the areas, and worked ldiluted liquid laundry detergent into the areas. Got most of the black dirt and grass stains off - except on the spot I missed.

Soak them overnight in BIZ and hot water. That was the only way I could ever get my son's pants white. I did the same with his baseball pants.

I never worried too much about the stains - I was just so happy he actually brought them home to be washed! Some of the pads were removeable, but I don't think all. I always hung them to dry.
