I am anxious to get it at the library.

I just finished it today. I'm a bit unsettled.

I have loved all of the previous books, but this one felt rushed. I noticed a few errors/inconsistencies with what had been said about characters before, which 'threw me out' of the story. But mainly the impression I had was that it was as if the publisher has said ' You've got one more book - tie up all the storylines now'. It was like a synopsis of what she might have written over the course of several books, so - to be very blunt - I feel a bit cheated.

I guessing that this was written at the same time as Sonoma Rose (which sounds like a historical dealing more with characters from the Elizabeth-moves-West storyline) and wonder if that resulted in the rushed effect since Sonoma Rose is due out within a couple of months (in England anyway).

Before reading I had been a bit concerned about the 25 year jump - but hoped it was just a writing device to be used in a way similar to the historical time jump that has been used in the past. However, I cannot now really see how she will be able to do any more books relating to what I think of as the 'modern day' characters - we know what happens to each of them now. But then, I am not an author - maybe she has ideas in mind.

I do hold out hope that we will get a book based on Sylvia's journal. Sylvia being my favourite character.

I would be very interested to hear the impressions of others - am I off track here?!?!!??

I have not read it but it bugs me when there are inconsistencies in a book. Just read one by Jodi Picoult, heroine has a 5 year old girl and a bloodhound. When the dog jumps up on the little girl, his paws almost reach her shoulders. Whaaaaat???

I read it a couple weeks ago and I had some various thoughts about it. Initially, I was kind of disappointed about the 25 year jump but I thought it was well written. I did get the feeling like this book was the 'wrap-up' of the series. Hope I am wrong.

I started reading it but kept putting it down. Was sure I must have missed a couple of her books, since the babies were just born. After reading your thoughts I am glad to know I am not alone. Don't know if I should read it right now or not.

I was not happy with the way liberties were taken. When Sylvia went to school it was not Carnegie Mellon. Dumb things like that really bug me. At times there is too much jumping around and it ruins the flow of the story.

Just finished reading "A Quilters Hoilday" Wondered about the 'jump.' Guess I will just wait till I get the others read.

Haven't read it but sure want to, can't afford to buy it so waiting for my turn at the library. Hope I live long enough I'm #289 to get it LOL!!

Read it and was disappointed. Just seemed as if she had to "tie up" all the loose ends (if almost every character in every previous book qualifies as a loose end). No real consistency through the book, and it just seemed kind of--I don't know--sanctimonious? Self righteous? Boring? Lacking a plot?
