What have you learned by using internet resources?

I just realized all the new things I have learned the last couple of years by using the internet. I'm sure some of this would have been possible with books, but I've got to tell you that videos on the internet are my favorite way to learn stuff now.

I taught myself to knit using the internet.
I learned how to quilt and applique using the internet, mostly from the great folks on this board.
I overcame my fear of sewing zippers using the internet.
I overcame my fear of having and using a serger using the internet.
I learned how to care for my garden on the internet.
I learned how to fix my toilet using the internet.
I'm in the process of converting two vintage sewing machines to hand cranks and making bases for
them using the internet.

What have you learned using videos and instructions from the internet?

I have learned lots about my family that would have been impossible to learn otherwise. I learned a Brother had died and what of, my Mom and Dad also. I have a picture of my Great Grandma and Great Grandpa, their marriage license and lots more. My Daughter joined ancestry and was able to learn so much.
I have learned different quilt patterns and items pertaining to quilting I didn't know were out there. I have learned so much and to many things to list.

Quilting and alot of lessons on youttube.all about thigs most peole dont know exist.
but... the most important thing,
i found out that when the s..t hits the fan, you're having a horrible day, or want to share good news
that all of you are here for a cograts, I'm sorry or a get well.
And that you can have computer friends, and even meet and have chats on the phone.

I used to bug my stepson when I had a computer problem, now I just look it up online. I also love ehow.com, all kinds of info there.

I would have to agree with those 2 items. Plus I'm a real medicine nerd & I've learned lots of stuff about medicine (clinical trials, new procedures, etc) on the Net. Plus I learned about fractals, which I think are so cool.

I also learned there are lots of really nice, caring, helpful people in the world & that even when you think you're alone about something, you aren't.

And while this isn't something I "learned" per se, we found both of our dogs on the 'Web, which makes me very, very happy!

I have learned a lot about quilting which I never could have before the internet. Learned about all my ancestors way back into the 1600's. Gotten a gazillion new recipes to try. In fact anytime I want to know about ANYTHING, I head for the computer. Don't know now what I would do without it. If we had a fire, I'd grab my sewing machine, my computer and my fur baby!!!

I have learned so much I cannot list it all. A few of the crafty things I have learned are needle tatting, knooking, pop tab bracelets and Christmas ornaments, tons of quilting stuff from Missouristarquiltco.

I learned how to release a skunk from a live trap without getting sprayed. I really needed to know how to do that:)

That I spend to much time on the computer--- My son had to take my new one home to undo something I shouldn't have done and I had a small panic attack. So he hooked up my old one. So much for catching up on my chores while I had no computer Drats now I feel guilty for procrastinating. But I'm sure if I read another chit-chat I'll get over it : )
