Hitting the after Thanksgiving sales starting at 4am.

Well..I have several favorite things...I have a 5 day weekend...no school on Weds.! The best part will be having both my college age daughters home for the holiday...one is able to come home frequently, the other (my youngest child) has not been home since Aug 15th. She will arrive around midnite on Tues nite. We will put up our tree, have a big family dinner on Sat. and go see a couple of movies. On Thurs., since all both girls and my adult son with be with their significant others' families, my hubby and I will go out to dinner and then he will watch football and I will spend the day sewing. So much to look forward to! Plus, I heard that we may have some snowflakes that day. (We are in central IN)

4 days with Pat. Nothing else required!

Our 4 day weekend will be spent with grandkids. We are going out to eat as a family(24 of us) and then I will bring the twins(6 yr old boys) and Rachel(7) home with me for two nights. this is their weekend to come so Rachel and I need to finish her Doll Quilt for the kids DQ swap and the twins both started a small quilt as they can't be left out! LOL

Then when they go home it is back to sewing on more orders that have deadlines. One day is the same as another for me. Mostly grandkids and quilting!

Well Every year is different...this year I will spend wed and thursday preparing for the big feast and studing for school..I have to work friday and saturday though..a.dn sunday will be anotehr study day..have a test for biology class on monday :( .

Our holidays are always different. This year I am in MN for a funeral today (Sunday) and tomorrow. We drive home Tuesday. 875 miles home. Then I have Wednesday to get ready for the inlaws to be at my house for the weekend. The inlaws will be there by 3 p.m. so I'd better get cracking when I get up.

I can only hope the husband and kids don't leave things in too big of a mess since they are home unattended right now.

Tree usually doesn't go up until after my birthday, but since I won't be here for Christmas, I decided that we can follow hubbys tradition of putting it up Thanksgving night or the day after.
We are having dinner with a bunch of friends...potluck style, so I will be making OUR turkey on Friday.
Reminds me...I should take it out of the deep freeze, huh? lol

My favorite part would be to have one.. we get Thursday ONLY off.

I'd better get our turkey out of the freezer, too. Sometimes I forget. :oops: I think I agree with Miss Treated that leftovers are my favorite part. Yum!

No decorating for Christmas for us; we'll be moving in a week or two. The house we're moving into was supposed to be ready by Thanksgiving, so we thought we'd be spending the four day weekend moving, but now we're told it won't be ready for another week. In spite of knowing for months that we'd be moving, we're still not ready. I guess we'd better try to finish the packing this weekend.

We've got lots of Christmas stuff we normally decorate the house with, but I know we won't have the energy or inclination to do it this year. Plus we won't have a fireplace mantel and shelves in the living room at the new place so I don't even know where we'll put things next year. Maybe I'll get rid of most of it. :cry:

I don't even know if we'll have a Christmas tree this year. Yikes, I really can't imagine Christmas without a tree. We've always had a real one the entire 39+ years we've been married. Hmmm...I just realized I've always had a real tree every Christmas of my entire life! Even the year before I got married and was by myself in a little apartment I got a little tree and decorated it. Well, we'll just have to get a tree and that's all there is to it!

I've been trying to avoid thinking about this whole moving thing, but now that I am, perhaps what I should do this weekend (along with packing) is make and freeze Christmas cookies so I'll have them to send home with the friends who are going to help us move. Yeah, that's a good idea, isn't it?

New answer: My favorite part of the four-day Thanksgiving weekend, besides the leftovers, is baking Christmas cookies to give to helpful friends. :D
