I made a sandwich for lunch and thought this is one of my favorite sandwiches but I don't make it very often. It was two slices of wheat bread toasted with Miracle Whip and then I melt swiss cheese on either shaved ham or slices of chopped ham. Yummmm I love it!

I think my all time favorite number one sandwich is my own beefburgers. Cooked crumbled hamburger and mushroom soup mixed. Then a hamb bun with ketchup(and I have to cover every inch! LOL My dad used to point out any spot I missed - his way of teasing me) and then my homemade Aristocrat pickles(sweet) and onion slices. It is the best!!! No cheese on this one. I do like cheese on a cheeseburger but not my beefburgers.

So what is your favorite sandwich???

quilting cat 02-21-2011 03:31 PM

A quilt sandwich: a FINISHED top, layered with a COORDINATING back, and a SMOOTH batting!

My favorite would have to be a tuna salad sandwich. I use the solid pack tuna in water, drain the water into the dogs dishes, add 1 chopped dill pickle slice, some chopped celery, light mayo and put it on toasted white bread with lots of lettuce, and a side of potato chips. I am ready to go get one right now. I also like grilled cheese on marble rye bread with a dill pickle slice and chips on the side.

Do you put anything on the bread for condiments?

sherriequilts 02-21-2011 03:35 PM

grilled cheese with lettuce and tomato in it.
Oops! I forgot about my all time favorite: vegesteak sandwich from Oasis Cafe in Riverside CA. They make their own vegesteaks!

I'm not a dill person. But I love tuna! I make it with my own Aristocrat sweet pickles and mayo and most of the time eat it on saltines or club crackers. I like tuna just about any way you make it except with dill pickles. I order it in some of the sandwich joints around here. Love tuna!!

NancyG 02-21-2011 03:35 PM

The best sandwich is the one that a love one makes for me :) - Oscar Mayer ham, lightly cooked to remove some of the water (??) in it.

Hmmm, I have several! I love to make grilled cheese and tomato sandwiches! Another is Roast beef, turkey and ham topped with lettuce and tomato with mayo and mustard!!

cjomomma 02-21-2011 03:49 PM

My favorite sandwich is cornbeef (from the can). Plop it in a skillet and cook for a few minutes then scramble some eggs into it, cook til done. Mix with mayo and spread on bread. It's better if it's refrigerated and ate the next day. Yummy!!!

bj 02-21-2011 03:51 PM

Either peanut butter and jelly or grilled bologna and cheese.

pookie ookie 02-21-2011 03:53 PM

Sandwiches are illegal. You'll get escorted to the state line if someone sees you eating carbs slathered in fat.

That said, I once enjoyed Reubens and anything with peanut butter. Oh! And, I remember grilled cheese and eggsalad fondly from my youth. As an adult, I liked watercress sandwiches but even those are verboten nowadays.

When I sneak out to other states, I eat pulled pork.

Sadiemae 02-21-2011 03:55 PM

One that someone else will make or pay for.

earthwalker 02-21-2011 05:06 PM

Wholemeal bread, no butter with strong cheddar sliced off the block and crunchy sliced pickled onions. Wash down with large mug of strong tea.

RkayD 02-21-2011 05:09 PM

my favorite is a French Salute ~ copied from a sweet little Coffee shop in Charlottesville,VA. Its Brie cheese ham mayo and tiny little midget sweet pickles on a roll. I toast the bread to warm the cheese a bit. Its incredibly simple and one of those that you find yourself craving. =)

second favorite is a roast beef anything with horseradish mustard. =)

leatheflea 02-21-2011 05:13 PM

Onion, red peppers, spinach, hot cheese, garlic, sweet peppers, fresh tomato if in season, grilled

shequilts 02-21-2011 05:23 PM

My homemade pimento cheese with a summer tomato on rye.
Yum!

annyroony2 02-21-2011 05:32 PM

My favorite has to be a home grown tomato sandwich. Can't wait until we have some in the garden.

hobo2000 02-21-2011 05:34 PM

Sliced home made sourdough bread with mayo sliced chicken salt & pepper and many leaves of fresh basil and at keast 1/2 of an avacado. Maybe a side of Guiness Extra Stout. Yum! After that, who cares...LOL
