bj 12-28-2010 12:58 PM

Staying home. The next day, I'll be driving to Austin to get my grandson for his Christmas with us. And to get him registered in school here for the Spring. His folks will follow in a week or so. I'm so excited!!!!

Jim's Gem 12-28-2010 01:13 PM

My boss (and good friend) has a party every year at their home. It is his birthday and most of the people there are my good friends from church.
DH has been asked by our head pastor to put on a New Years party and movie at the church. So, I will be at my Boss's house and he will be at the church with his party. I will probably come over to the church to be with him at midnight.

No alcohol at either party except for the champagne toast at midnight at my boss's place.

lovequilts 12-28-2010 01:16 PM

I'll be home - Probably on this site. LOL... I like to be safe on New Years....

great aunt jacqui 12-28-2010 01:16 PM

after having dinner with DD in the city we will come home and be here. DH says New years partying is for the rookies. He'll be asleep the regular time. I'll stay up for a while if I can.
happy new year to everyone on the board and thanks for those who make this possible.

Juliebelle 12-28-2010 01:31 PM

Staying home much safer that way and I can have my wine and not worry that I have to drive anywhere.

quilter41 12-28-2010 01:32 PM

We will be partying in El Paso in hopes of a victory.
GO IRISH!
We are flying down in a small Lear Jet that belongs to a friend of my husbands. Four couples that have gone to ND Games for 25 years together.

SweetSlumber 12-28-2010 01:33 PM

staying at home, game night with the kids. sounds like they're planning a marathon monopoly game. It'll be fun just to hang out together. Happy 2011 all, hope it's a good year for all of us and ours!

laureneberhard 12-28-2010 01:33 PM

mamaw 12-28-2010 01:48 PM

Staying home....our grandson will be here and haven't gone out for years. Guess age has caused me to want to be home where it's safe and warm lol. I do stay up and watch the New Year in though!

Lynnejean 12-28-2010 02:25 PM

STaying Home like I always do. Hubby and I will kiss each other goodnight and say happy new year at 10:00pm and go to sleep.

BMP 12-28-2010 02:26 PM

We have tried to go out in the past but everywhere is crowded and service stinks and sometimes menus are limited. For years when our kids were young, still home we used to have game night and let the kids have friends over and have a food fest. Now I like being home fixing a great dinner and going to bed at a decent time.

Patty Patches 12-28-2010 02:28 PM

Our dgs wants to party sooooo we are going to have family over for games and of corse FIREWORKS to ring in the new year.We always have a great firework display for new years.

You re a very lucky lady,to have good friends for that long.Hope you have a great time and great weather.

QuiltnCowgirl 12-28-2010 02:35 PM

Because of my husband's work schedule, in 12 years time we have been able to do something for New Years Eve maybe 2 or 3 times. Therefore, I gave up on New Years Eve and for the past 4 years I've hosted a New Years Day Open House at our home for family & friends. I tell my friends: Have fun the night before, but the next day come over for good food, good company, watch the football games on tv, and couch potatos welcome too.

annyroony2 12-28-2010 02:35 PM

joan_quilts 12-28-2010 02:36 PM

I will be staying home! I don't like to "party" so being home with my hubby is what I will do. Probably have some kids popping in to say hi and that is ok too.

sueisallaboutquilts 12-28-2010 03:35 PM

My husband always cooks us a great meal and we watch old movies and eat snacks all night :)

jljack 12-28-2010 03:39 PM

We are going to a "East Coast New Year's" party at local lodge- it's from 6-9pm!! We will celebrate New Years when the ball drops in Times Square- 9:00 our time! We will celebrate a little longer, I'm sure, but no pressure to stay up till the wee hours. We are bringing our camper over & sleeping there too. No worries about drinking & driving & the crazies out on the road! Happy New Year everyone!

Qbee 12-28-2010 03:53 PM

Staying home and worrying about the kids who won't be at home...LOl! :D

jackilvsmath 12-28-2010 03:56 PM

0tis 12-28-2010 04:27 PM

Home - too crazy out that night. Hubby and I usually don't stay up till midnight - I hope I will be sitting at my machine and sewing away.

Pam B 12-28-2010 04:30 PM

We have tickets to see 'Wicked'. Of course, we will go out to dinner first. We have seen it before but just couldn't pass it up. With any luck, we will be home by midnight, though.

wanderingcreek 12-28-2010 06:07 PM

I'll be staying home with my 6yr old DGS while his mother and aunt go out. She won tickets to some party at the club where my niece's stagette was a couple of weeks ago. She rarely goes out so it will be a nice change for her. They will cab it home and then my DD will stay at my niece's for the night. New Years Day is my Dad's bday so we'll all wind up there for cake in the afternoon.
