my hubby just yelled at me asking me if i had the cats downstairs. no, i don't! turned out both the kittens got outside through a window that the screen had fallen out of. Rosie loves to rub on that screen and evidently did it too hard.
I finally got Sissie back in through the window but Rosie was not willing to come inside just yet. i can't go pick her up when she's scared so i whistled and called and she stayed in the backyard and finally went back in through the patio door.
now to see how we can secure the screens. it's too hot without the windows open!! i stay downstairs now because my hubby doesn't like the fan on at all.
mamma cat was mad at her girls too! all safe and sound now though.

Glad you got them back in safe

OOO, that can be scary, especially with indoor cats, to have them get out! And at night, too!
Glad everyone is back in safe and sound!

My Abbie does the same thing, so we bought the adjustable screens from the hardware store, sanded the ends in a bevel and they slide right into the side tracks of the window. Can't be pushed out. She hasn't gotten out since.

I woke up one morning hearing this noise. I thought OH NO NOT A MOUSE!!! I layed there and listened and listened totally still. Trying to figure this out at 5am. Finally I looked at the window and the cat somehow had pushed out the screen and he was sitting on the roof and was batting at the screen to come in! OMG!! He did the samething to my son and he had to actually go out onto the roof outside his room (I wouldn't have done this) to get him.

We have one that just WAITS til someone opens the door, and shoots out when youre not looking. I always do a head count before I go to bed, lol!!!!!!!!

We were replacing our outside doors, DH didnt' get it shut completely and then left to run some errands. I got home to find out cats patroling the yard. I was scared to death, but the cats were having a great time. tee hee

our mamma cat was an outdoor cat (starving) when we took her and her two kittens in. she gets walked out with a leash and loves it. i sit outside with her while she lays in the shade watching birds too.
but sometimes my hubby goes out the front door or garage door very slowly(two new knees) and she bolts out. she knows that's bad but she's fast. so there are times when i must go hunt for her. not often thank goodness!

One of mine got out 2 days ago. I can't find it anywhere. We have coyotes here and I'm afraid she was bait. I have lost more cats and little dogs from those darn coyotes. Sad

I so glad to hear you found them both!
I live in a mobile home that has metal awnings over most of the windows & zzyzx the cat (my avatar) liked to sit & watch out the windows. Well, sometimes birds would come & sit on the cross braces that go from the awning to the house ~ zzyzx blew out more than a few of the screens trying to go after them! Ended up only being able to leave a couple of my windows open all the way, trying to keep her in.
The best one tho', was once when my Mom was watching her for me when I was out of town for the weekend. When Mom got to the house to feed zzyzx for dinner, she wasn't met at the door as usual. Mom looked all over the house, calling & calling - no cat. Mom said that she thought "Oh crap, Sue's gonna kill me if that cat is lost!" She went outside & called & looked - no cat. So she decided one last time to check thru' the house. When she came down the hall towards my bedroom, she heard this really strange noise, a sort of scratching sound. She came into the room, just as zzyzx climbed in thru' the window! I had left it open about 2", and she had managed to blow out the screen & get out!! The sound was her jumping/climbing/scrambling up the outside of the house to get back in!!! Zzyzx never was one to miss a meal!!! ;)
