While I was dedicatedly looking thru the catalog to see what I need next, I hear a saleslady behind the counter say really loud "Oh MY!" while looking behind me. There was my daughter, climbed up on the display potty chair doing her business. Since she was potty training at home, this seemed the thing to do and she was look mightly pleased with herself. Needless to say, it was a readers digest moment for me!

I thought only my little boys did things like that!

Oh, I remember them. I was the youngest child and was dragged along to the redemption center with her. Three things I remember that she got: a Gingerbread House cookie jar, a wind up cuckoo clock, and a large landscape that hung in her home until she moved.

I still have and use the crockpot, mom, got me, with them, when I got married. That was over 33 years ago.

I guess bonus points on our credit cards are the closest thing we have to redemption stamps today, but the stamps were much more fun and easier to use.

When I got married, I got my dishes with Top Value stamps. When I had my daughter, her bed and bathanet was purchased with Top Value Stamps.
The other day I was folding up my card table (which belonged to my Mom) and there was a sticker on the underside that said "purchased with 4 1/2 books of Top Value Stamps plus 75¢ in 1969.
